Virons

The Virons are the native race of the Planet Xyfor.

Xyfor is an absolute death trap, towering monsters and deadly climate combine to from a world where only the strongest survive. The Virons were originally quite weak in comparison to the other indigenous life forms on the planet and as a result were middle of the food chain for most of their existance. Whereas normal intelligent races build machines to fight any threats, the climate of Xyfor was so "technophobic" that any mass produced machine simply didnt work.

Therefore development was slow and painful. However the Virons started making breakthroughs in biological research: genetic manipulation and biological weaponry become common and widespread among the Virons. Gradually the Virons became the dominant species of Xyfor using weapons of unimaginable pain on all those that threatened their superiority. At this time all the Virons came together in a very large collective to combine strength against the still problematic wildlife, that is when a dictatorial goverment came in to focus the efforts of the united Viron peoples.

Based on their successes the Virons took asteronomical steps into biological research finally managing to make organisms on the genetic level to perform their will. But due to curtain limitations all of which was needed could not be made. This was at a time when other superpowers in the system threatened the safety of the Virons on Xyfor in both military and economic terms.

Therefore the Virons put all their available resources into the creation of the Alpha Construct... a biologic machine which could be linked with a Viron so that his very thoughts manipulated the DNA make-up of a host which is put inside.

It took literally decades of research to even make up designs for such a thing, during this time other races simply saw the efforts of the Virons and laughed at their mission thinking it impossible. The first few Alpha Constructs hardly proved them wrong. But then the Virons finally managed to make the Alpha Construct successfully in the year 2380 and since that time individual Virons have been led into Alpha to be changed into the Overmind wills and since the Overmind has become the supreme leader of the Virons.

Now the Virons have become the scourge of the Verdentia System with every other super power fighting them. The Virons have been renamed the Viron Legion as a sign of their merciless and unrelenting power.
