Sir William Elric Montague, M.D., D.Math., D.Arch., LL.D., Ph.D., Th.D., M.Litt., M.Chem., M.P.S., Grand Patron of the Order of Freemasonry and the Occupied Territory, Thirty-third Degree Grand Inspector General of Freemasonry, Baron of Manchester, Earl of Wales, Lord of England, Knight of Great Britian, and Father of Masonic Architecture, (June 3, 1945) was born in London, England to Sir Marcus and Mary Montague at the end of World War Two. He is currently the Grand Patron of the Ancient Order of Freemasons of the Grand Architect and the Rose Cross, he is considered one of - if not the - most intelligent men alive, and is one of the most wealthy and respected individuals around the world.

History

William was born in London, England, United Kingdom, to Sir Marcus and Mary Montague in a large manor just inside the boundary of London. He was born to the wealthiest man in the United Kingdom in one of the most respected families in the world. His father served as a close advisor to Winston Churchill during World War II, and was also a Grand Inspector General in the Freemasons of England. Thus, William became initiated to Masonic traditions from the early age. He was inducted as an honorary member at the age of eight, but never attended meetings until the age of eighteen.

During his primary education, William attended only excelled classes and began learning pre-calculus in the second grade - among other secondary level courses. He was accepted into the Study Abroad Foundation by reaching intermediate education, and he was sent around the world - most notably South Africa and Germany - to study and learn. His father accompanied him to South Africa where they lived for two years, returning only on word that William's mother had passed away. This devastated William for several years, forcing him to withdraw from the Foundation until the age of thirteen.

During his final years of intermediate school, many expect that William began learning Rosicrucian concepts and philosophy from his father. By the beginning of secondary education, William was being home-schooled by his father in the Palace as Sir Marcus served his original purpose as doctor for the Queen. While being placed at this high-rank of society, William began to formulate his beliefs of society and how things should function. By his secondary schooling graduation, William had two doctorates and several master's degrees.

William first attended Oxford University and achieved doctorates in medicine and architecture. He would continue to eventually achieve a doctorate of theology at Oxford as well. After achieving what William believed was available, he began attending Cambridge University and studied mathematics, philosophy, and the 'literal arts'. He achieved two doctorates and a master's degree. This, however, would not be the end of William's long winded educational career. Using funds from the Study Abroad Foundation and his family's assets, William moved to America in order to study at Harvard University. He graduated with a doctorate degree in law and master's degrees in chemistry and political science. It is said that William is one of the most educated individuals on the planet, and that he is the most intelligent man from Great Britain.

At age twenty, William returned to Great Britain in order to be knighted. After being knighted, Sir William lived in London for several years as the Patron of the Grand Lodge of England. This would be the first significant step on the road to Grand Patron of the Order that William would make. Due to his contributions to the community and various charitable works, the Queen of England made William an honorary member of the Royal Family as Duke of Manchester, Earl of Wales, and Lord of England. After achieving these honors, William moved abroad to become a diplomat for the United Kingdom.

At age forty, Lord Montague lived in Washington, D.C, as a British envoy and a prominent Mason. He continued to attend Mason meetings regularly and slowly excelled up the ranks of the Scottish Rite. By age fifty, Montague was made a Grand Inspector General (33rd Degree Master Mason) of the Scottish Rite and became Patron of the Grand Lodge of Accepted Freemasons of America. It is at this point that obscurity develops. According to records produced by the British government, Montague resigned as ambassador to America from Great Britain. He was not heard of until the Third World War began.

At the beginning of the Third World War, all that was known was that Montague had served as a key player in the foundation of the Order of Freemasonry; but that he never intended to play the role of Grand Patron. During WWIII, William served as an Imperial Marshall (comparable to Field Marshall) of the Grand Architect's Army (Masonic army) and ordered the destruction of several hundred Roman Catholic churches across the country. It is also speculation that he wrote the famous Code of Solomon - the ordinance that restricted freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and various civil liberties to the level of a fascist state. However, this is strictly considered speculation and rumor.

After the ratification of the Masonic Peace Accord which restricted the Order to the Occupied Territory, the Grand Patron that ruled during the Third World War (Matthias Brundvick) mysteriously vanished and Montague was placed as Grand Patron. As one of the most educated Freemasons in the Order it only seemed logical. It is unclear of how Montague originally reacted to this.

Since his installment as Grand Patron, Montague has advanced the Order beyond the Occupied Territory, and he has made it one of the most powerful international organizations in the world. Thanks to him, the Order has Grand Lodges in many nations, with numerous Lodges and Temples expanding from them. He is considered to be one of the most qualified Master Masons of his time. It is yet to be seen exactly what new policies may come about under his authority.
