Yor

The Yor are another of the three main races which form the League of Friendly Aliens. They are large yet intelligent creatures who despite their appearance are actually the tamest of the races in Friendly Aliens.

Average height 6.5ft (males), 6.4ft (females)

Physique: Hunched and burly.

Bi-pedial

Yor have four arms. One pair attached to the shoulders and another pair attached to the mid of the rib cage. Yor are hunched creatures with heads covered in thick hair and bony ridges especially on the forehead. They have no external nasal passages just like the Drathi and have no sense of smell.

They have large muscular legs and large hairy feet to support the extra weight of the arms. Yor skin is grey in colour and they normally have white eyes. However in some rare occasions they have green eyes, in the olden days Yor believed they were a sign of wisdom and the tradition has held ever since then with green eyed Yor being in high regard.

Unlike Drathi Yor can grow to become extremely muscular with significant weight training. After Planetfall, Yor with their huge strength manage to save many Aliens by lifting huge chunks of debris which machines would otherwise be needed to carry.

Despite their brutish appearance Yor are also very intelligent, they do not have the superior higher brain functions of the Drathi but they possess superior instincts and are always a useful addition to a research team.

Social Attributes

Yor are very sociable, they love to be in large groups and socialise. This behaviour probably comes from their herd animal decendancy and this probably explains the huge amount of protectionism they show for members of their own race or their ’herd’ (this has spread to all members of Friendly Aliens).

Yor are never normally aggressive especially to other members of Friendly Aliens however if someone they care about is threatened there is little that can stop them from making sure their friends are safe. Hence why Yor make a sizeable part of the Friendly Alien armed forces.
