The Holy Empire of Zilam

The Holy Empire of Zilam is a massive, socially progressive nation, remarkable for its complete lack of prisons. Its hard-nosed population of 2.471 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Healthcare, Education, and Religion & Spirituality. The average income tax rate is 100%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Information Technology and Beef-Based Agriculture.

Citizens must pay to enjoy Zilam's pristine beaches, the government has cut its subsidies for all special interest groups, skateparks can be found in every city, and euthanasia is illegal. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Zilam's national animal is the Lamb, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Shekel.

A Historical Timeline of Zilam

Below is a timeline of Human activity in and around current Zilam Dates are BBD and ABD, for Before battle of Dalmish, and after battle of Dalmish.

• 10,000 BBD Mass exodus of Humans to Colmatin Continent from an unknown land. Cause of exodus is unknown
• 8000 BBD By this time the humans have seperated into various tribes, and settling much of the Colmatin Continent, with a heavy density of people around current Zilamian lands.
• 5000 BBD The world settles down into a deep, and severe Ice Age. Glaciers cover 90% of the continent. Around 80 % of all human life died during this time, due to effects from glaciation.
• 3000 BBD World starts to thaw from the glaciers. The remaining peoples come together, and form the Tingo Confederacy, a loose affiliation of several tribes, only connected through a military alliance.
• 3500 BBD The confederacy consolidates and forms a Empire, with Azthulecean I being the first Immortal(emperor)
• 500 BBD After 2500 years of a succesful government, the Tingo Empire now faces an imminent threat from the East. For thousands of years, only the water was in the East, but now strange men, in large vessels come from the waters, and settle along the coast.
• 400 BBD After a century of warfare, the Tingo Empire stands in ruins, many of the people have died from warfare, but even more died from the Devil's Fever. Emperor Liku the Great, refuses to sign a treaty, allowing the Yivutzis(means "Strange men") to occupy the area. Liku then loses his head, becoming the last emperor of the Tingo Empire. The people of Tingo are forced to move north into the Sanube Desert, where they have lived ever since
• 320 BBD Founding of Zilam City, by a man only known to history as simply Zilam**. The city rapidly grows as more and more colonists flock to the area after the find of precious ores, and gems.
• 50 BBD The colonies on Colmatin soon begin to declare their independence from mother lands.
• 25 BBD The people in the newly created country of Sangro begin their civil war, as the Seperatists in the north, based in Adema seek to seperate themselves from the Republicans in the south, based in Zilam City.
• 05 BBD After 20 years of mass bloodshed, genocide, and other heinous acts of crime, the war begins to go horribly for the Republicans, as the People of Galmob join the war on the side of the Seperatists, and invade from the west. The Republicans are now cornered in the south east, with their backs to the ocean, and the enemy comming in soon.

• Battle of Dalmish 0 BBD Perhaps the most important battle in the History of Zilam, it was one that was won out of shear luck, and military genius.
