The Kronos is one of the many new weapons that are currently entering service with the Franberrian Armed Forces (FAF). The Kronos was designed to outgun whatever it can’t outrun, and outrun whatever it can’t outgun, all while maximizing crew survival.

History

Following the Oil War, where tank battalions had been surrounded and took very heavy losses. It became clear that the FAF's tank crews had to be better protected. Therefore what we now know as the Kronos Main Battle Tank was commissioned. The Franberrian government realized that it needed to have indigenous tank production, to be able to have a secure production of tanks. Nigez Armor was founded and given the job of producing a reliable and powerful MBT.

Marks I through III

Mk I: Released in May of 1997. First combat version of the Kronos saw service in peacekeeping missions. It had a 102mm gun. Many flaws appeared during combat, such as a venerable turret and small loading area. The treads were also very easy to shoot off. Apart from those flaws, destroyed tanks had a 94% survivability rate, while damaged tanks had a 98% rate.

Mk II: Released in October of 1997. It was the same as MkI but with new turret and expanded loading area. Saw very little combat. Was vulnerable to landmines.

Mk III: Released in March of 1999. The expanded fuel tank, which had extra armor, allowed for further range. It also had improved tracks and reinforced belly armor, making landmines less of a worry. Saw extensive combat action, and fought along with the Mk IV in The 13 Day War.

Mark IV

Real eased in November of 2004. It boasts new armor, made from classified composites and modular, which protects the crew. It holds a new 152mm R7 cannon, one of the finest that we can put on a tank. New radios and targeting systems are fitted on the Mk IV. Mk III's are being upgraded to Mk IV status.

Mk IV’s are equipped with all Black Guard divisions and are currently being shipped to the standard army.

The 13 Day War

During The 13 Day War the Kronos demonstrated itself as a wonderful combat tank. In the hands of the Guard divisions it brushed away Jammin opposition. The Kronos MBTs used by the standard army yielded an equally good combat record.
The amazing kill ratio during the war, including against crack Jammin formations is 1 Kronos: 12.7 Jammin MBTS. This showed the FAF that the Kronos is the way to go, production has been stepped up. Some are even being produced with a weaker gun, as to accommodate an "ambulance" area at the back of the tank; it will convert the Kronos into a "Tankbulance" being able of rescuing wounded troops out of the most dangerous situations.
