The Hamptonian krone is the currency used in Hamptonshire and the Hamptonian protectorates of the Hamptonian League. The plural form is "kroner" and one krone is divided into 100 øre, singular and plural. The krone is one of the strongest and more stable currencies in the NS world.

History

In the spring of 1707, it was decided by the Royal Senate that Hamptonshire should abandon the Danish Rigsdaler in favor of a less Danish-centric currency. When the exchange process began in the winter of 1707 the rigsdaler was replaced at the rate of 3 rigsdaler to the krone. Within two years there was enough printed krone notes and minted coins to replace all Rigsdaler within the Grand Duchy.

The krone was fixed at a one to one ratio with the Pacitalian douro in the late twentieth century to better facilitate the economic and trading links between the two nations. Recently, however, Hamptonian businessmen and academics have argued that the Hamptonian krone is dangerously undervalued. While neither nation wants to abandoned the fixed rate between the krone and douro, the possibility of a joint reevaluation has been explored from time to time by the Hamptonian Finance Ministry.
