The Founding

The region of Driftopia was discovered by the Benevolant Drifter of Kabita. At that time, Mactopia, Kabita's former region, was in turmoil. The tyrannical reign of El Commandante of Spoonmenistan was threatening to tear the region apart. Soon though, tensions between Spoonmenistan and the free peoples of Mactopia had reached boiling point as El Commandante threatened to use the 'Mactopian Doomsday Device' if the UN Members of that region did not make him delegate. And so, after years of negotiating, The Benevolant Drifter resolved to leave Mactopia for ever and begin affresh in Driftopia. With him marched the peoples of many nationalities who wished to escape the oppresion of El Commandante and Spoonmenistan, predominantly the Forkanians, Kirastorians, Aelfastites and the New Romans. This event was known as the Great Schism. They found a wide expance of land, almost devoid of human life - the perfect place to start again.

History

Only one true civilization grew up in Driftopia before the arrival of the Mactopians. At the time of the Great Schism, this civilization was known as Rank Hovis, and it was located on an island far in the east, in the great Eastern Ocean. As the name suggests, it is renowned for the production of rotten bread. The Rank Hovitans did not have a form of writing, and therefore we know very little of their history and the history of the region before the arrival of the Mactopians. What little can be deciphered is found only in the form of stories past down from father to son, and it is hard to seperate history from legend. The stories tell us of a great flood that drowned many lands and separated their home from the Driftopian mainland, vicious invaders from the south, and the exploration of the Great Eastern Ocean. The Mactopian nations have little dealings with the Rank Hovitans even now, as their primary concern is to the west, towards Mactopia. The Federation of The Ninja Biscuit popped up soon after. It's a passive region - well known for it's hats. It's cheese is exported all over Driftopia. It is being encouraged to join in the war against Mactopia - an answer will come in the future.

The Indecisiveness of The Free Land of Forkania

At about the same time The Federation of the Ninja Biscuit was formed, Rokanzabal persuaded Forkania to return to Mactopia. Kabita was furious. Of course, when The Ninja Biscuit reinstated, and Rokanzabal followed, Forkania returned aswell.

The Spies

It was soon discovered that the Region of Driftopia was being spied upon. After a slip up by The Empire of Rokanzabal, Kirastor and Guhawhan informed Kabita about El Commandante's intentions. Soon, Kabita banned and removed by force the Federation of the Ninja Biscuit and Rank Hovis were ejected and banned for spying and treason in Driftopia. As a result, Rokanzabal felt unbelivable guilt for bringing the region into disrepute after the security breach. After extensive apologies, Rokanzabal was welcomed into Driftopia, and as a result, a weeks later The Federation of the Ninja Biscuit was reinstated. The region of Mactopia is crumbling.
