From the beginning, The Burnsian Desert's landscape has been marred by war and conflict. Walking through any of the major cities, you will see buildings gutted out by bombs, craters left unrepaired in the streets, and mutilated soldiers begging for money on the corners. The first official conflict in the Desert's history was the Glorious Revolution, where the first Burnsian dictator, General MacGonzo, was overthrown by the popular revolutionary movement. After several years of warlords fighting against each other, one man (whose name has been lost to history) emerged as the National President. This man, known now only as [[The First]], reorganized the government and created the basic template for modern Burnsian government.

The Desert itself was a product of several different ancient clans binding together to fight enemies past the southern border. In 12 AD, the nation solidified, and these clans came to form one ruling government entity, called '''The Sal'path Conference'''. In ancient Burnsian, ''Sal'path'' means 'foe of my foe'. The Conference was formed of represenatives from the six different Burnsian clans.
