The President-General (or King, or Queen) is the highest authority in the Judicial, Executive and Economic branches of government. He is advised by seven Scholars, two from the Judicial and Economic branches, and three from the Executive. A representative from each Region of TBD (West Peninsula, East Peninsula, West Mountain, Mountain, Central Desert, and the Islandry) informs the leader of the needs and wants of the people. It is up to the leaders discretion if he wants to appease the populace or not.

The Desert is a democratically-represented empire. It is up to the Emperor whether he will make the appropriate changes or ignore the greiviances. The representatives have 2-year terms, and can be re-elected an indefinate number of times. The Burnsian Military is made up of four different branches: the Emperor's Army, the Imperial Navy, the Emperor's Air Force, and the Imperial Coastal Defense. All four branches are commanded by one Burnsian High Military Command, which is based in the Skulrolt Military Command and Detainment Base. Below are the ranks for the High Military Command.

The Land Department is composed of some 145,575,000 men and women. Half of them (72,787,500) of them are active combat duty; the other half are administrative and logisitics. The Land Department controls the offices of the Army, the Artillery, the Burnsian Intelligence Agency, the Police, the Wardogs, the Air Force, and the Citizens' Guard.

Culture

A relatively young nation, The Burnsian Desert has not had ample time to develop its own culture. However, the cultures of India, Iran and Britain are all represented heavily in the country. British styles of clothing are most prevalent, while the food is mostly Indian. Cultures around country are quite cohesive, and there are almost no racial ghettoes or discrimination, especially in the large cities. Royalty Day is the premiere holiday of the season, economically and culturally. The military follows a unique fusion of American, Iranian and British organizational doctrines.

Government

The Burnsian Charter

The Burnsian Charter was penned the day after the Iranian government recognized the BSO's bid for secession. It was written personally by Orville Burns. Convieniently, it was destroyed the next day when Orville was cooking breakfast. However, the Burnsian Charter has been traditionally interpreted as affording these guidelines to the populace.

  • Henceforth, this nation is to be called The Burnsian Desert
  • In political circles, if you kill a rival, you will inherit his position
  • Every citizen has the right to a trial when accused of a crime
  • When a citizen of the Burnsian Desert is accused of a crime, the burden of proof lies on the state
  • The President-General Emperor is the final authority in every matter concerning the country

Unorganized, yes, but effective nonetheless.

Organization

The Desert is a democratically-represented empire. This means that every province of the Desert (excluding recently conquered provinces) are allowed to elect five representatives to go to the Burnsian Congress every spring and fall. During this Congress, the Emperor listens to each representative explain the concerns of his or her people. It is up to the Emperor whether he will make the appropriate changes or ignore the greiviances. The representatives have 2-year terms, and can be re-elected an indefinate number of times. The seat of the Emperor is heriditary, unless the Emperor designates an alternate heir.

Military

Organization

The Burnsian Military is made up of four different branches: the Emperor's Army, the Imperial Navy, the Emperor's Air Force, and the Imperial Coastal Defense. All four branches are commanded by one Burnsian High Military Command, which is based in the Skulrolt Military Command and Detainment Base. Below are the ranks for the High Military Command.
