HRH Crown Princess Samara was the daughter of late Queen Meinara and HRM Anemir King of the Iris. Her siblings were King Ateni, Crown Princess Lehura and Crown Prince Uneri.
From her marriage to Isitr Kantanri, she had one son, Asuani whom her brother and his husband adopted after her death.
She was governor of Āŋ-Neila from 1992 until her death. She died in a car accident while touring the south of the province during her campaign for re-election.
