Two years after the fall of the Western Roman Empire, a small Germanic tribe set itself on an island just North of Modern Day Russian. Life was hard for the settlers and for 50 years they labored to build their civilization in the harsh conditions of their chosen land. After many struggles and failures, a great leader arose to lead them boldly into the next century. His name was Boris Kobechev. Under Kobechev, the tribe developed a strong system of government that gave them an order that was until this time unheard of. Kobechev raised and army and the tribe began to build ships again to travel from their island. They made many alliances with other tribes until Kobechev’s death in 563. By this time, the tribe had evolved into a small country known as Aurigea. Various leaders would continue to shape the nation into a small but influential piece of land. Then a man by the name of Yarin Listov took power in 702, beginning what would come to be known by all Aurigeans the Age of Regression.

A series of wars sparked off one of the darkest chapters in Aurigean history as Listov began his first attempt and Imperialist conquest. First he attacked three small tribes on the mainland completely obliterating any trace that they ever existed. Then he moved to bigger conquests and with the destruction of two ally cities, he had expanded the reach of Aurigea with and iron fist. With the armies he had now created, Listov launched and offensive on the Eastern Roman Empire and was handily defeated by a far superior Roman force. Reeling, the Aurigean armies were pushed back to their island while the Romans plotted a final offensive to wipe out the Aurigean threat forever. The night before it was launched however, the oppressed citizens of Aurigea rose up against Listov and killed him. When the Romans sailed on Aurigea the next morning, they found white flags draped upon the walls of the capital, and they were welcomed into the city to find that Listov had been killed and a new leader was installed. After many talks with the Romans, an alliance was formed that would secure the future of Aurigea for another 700 years.

The prime of the Aurigean civilization, only a few minor wars were present in this era and they were easily won with the help of the Romans from Constantinople. Nothing of incredible significance happened during this period except for a few technological advancements. Then in 1461, that all changed.

The advent of gunpowder made the once impregnable city of Constantinople easy pickings and the Ottomans took full advantage of it. With their allies gone, the Aurigeans were once again isolated and on their own. But, as had happened once before, a new leader arose from the ashes to lead Aurigea to greatness. With the Turkish armies pushing farther and farther into the territory gained during the Golden Age, the Aurigeans were on their last thread of hope, a hope that came in the form of Grig Kobechev. Quickly enlisting the help of the mercenaries known as the List’ten, Kobechev rallied the armies and launched a massive counter-offensive against the Turkish troops. The ensuing battle which would be known as The Battle of Bloody River, lasted for 3 weeks until at last when the dust settled, the Turks were driven from the field by the Aurigeans who returned to their homeland victorious. Kobechev was the hero of the day. To solidify the power of Aurigea, Kobechev offered the List’ten a permanent home in Aurigea on the condition that they stay on in a military position as the elite troops of the army. The offer was accepted and the combined forces of the Aurigeans and the List’ten became one of the most feared armies in their small portion of the earth.

The Gramal – Weyr Conflict and Peace Talks. After the war, Aurigea entered a period of calm that was only opposed by attacks from radical groups in the Northern regions. A few laws were passed because of this and peace once again ensued. Until that fateful day in 2001 when another rebel attack created the Aurigea of today.

Immediately following a flurry of attacks by the rebels who had been quiet for some time, the List’ten invoked their rite of protection by assassinating Governor General Stanley Molotov who had taken the rebel attacks laying down and never got back up. When the List’ten had taken control of the country, it officially became Beta Aurigae VII. Since that time, Beta Aurigae VII has been involved in two major conflicts, The NationStates War and The War on Klington.
