Government

  • Type: what kind of goverment is this?
  • National Holiday:
  • Constitution: Name of your constitution
  • Legal System: what is the legal system based on?

Executive Branch

  • Chief of State: this office includes the person who basically personifies the state, its leader. most leaders in a country share the duty of chief of state and head of government, such as the United States President. Countries where it is split up for example is that the chief of state of the UK is the Prime Minister, but the Head of Government is the Monarch.
  • Head of Government: this is the so called figurehead, or perhaps it could serve a purpose, such as in my government the Chief of State elects all of the major officers, and makes sure the government itself is running smoothly. in other words the bureacracy is in the hands of one man, whereas the Head of Government is in the hands of the Chief of the Cabinet, where he is the one who actually deals with the problems of the people. So its up to you, as i said, most countries have these two offices combined, and if you so choose to combine them, then just put your name in them both.
  • Cabinet: this is sort of like the rest of the executive branch, like all of the offices and such
  • Elections: How is the leader and his cabinet brought to power?

Legislative Branch

  • state whether you have a unicameral, bicameral, or tricameral congress. examples: Unicameral is just one legislature, such as the English Parliment which now just consists of the House of Commons. Bicameral is two legislatures, such as the United States Congress, which consists of the Senate and the House of Representatives, or tricameral, such as the old French National Convention, which consisted of the Representatives of the Citizenry, the Representatives of the Clergy, and the Representatives of the Nobility.
  • after stating if it is uni, bi, or tricameral, break down each branch by name and number of members

Political Pressure Groups

  • pressure groups are like the Al Queida (spelling) in Iraq, or labor unions in the United States. These are neo-political entities that can either be in a full swing rebellion, simply lobbying as a single massive entity influencing the government, or just a group trying to pressure the government constantly. almost every nation has one.
