The Sultanate of the Ayyubids is a small, socially progressive nation, renowned for its burgeoning Poodle population. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 6 million hold their civil and political rights very dear. The Sultanate is ruled by His Royal Highness Sultan Salah ad-Din (The Righteousness of the Faith) who has achieved a great reputation as a chivalrous ruler renowned for his leadership and his merciful nature. The Sultanate of the Ayyubids is a strong defender of democratic values, human rights and political freedoms. The Sultanate encourages its citizens to explore their individual spirituality rather than participating in organized religions.

Government

The Sultanate of the Ayyubids is a parliamentary democracy under a constitutional monarch.

HRH Sultan Salah ad-Din is the head of state and head of the government. As President of the government he appoints a Vice-president and a Prime Minister. The Prime Minister is the head of the council of Ministers. All ministers are apointed by the Sultan but must have the confidence of the two houses of parliament.

The parliament consists of two houses. The Senate and the House of Representatives.

The Senate consists of 48 senators. A fraction leader in the senate is called a senior-senator. The Vice-president is also the President of the Senate. The senators are appointed by the governors of their respective states. The senate can only aprove or reject a law after it has been aproved by the House of Representatives.

The House of Representatives consists of 120 elected members. The President of the House of Representatives is elected by the members of the house.

The governors also elect a Governor-general who functions as a 2nd Vice-president.

Administrative Regions

The Sultanate is devided into 10 administrative regions, 9 states and one federal district. Each state under a Governor and the federal district under the Governor-general.

  • The Island of Farkow - a small island in the northwest; capital Farkow City.
  • The New Emirates of the Ayyubids - an island state devided into 4 principialities in the northeast; capital Edina.
  • The Eastern Islands - a small group of (3 inhabited and one uninhabited) islands devided into 5 principialities in the southeast; capital Nessa.
  • The Northern Ayyubid Emirates - a large but low populated state in the north devided into 5 principialities; capital North Coast.
  • Porto Mikelangelo - a large and densely populated state in the centralwest devided into 5 principialities; capital Ciudad di Angelo.
  • Western Emirates - the most populates state in the sultanate devided into 4 principialities in the southwest; capital South Beach.
  • Emirates of Trimos - 3 principialities in the centralsouth; capital City of Trimos.
  • Emirates of Saladin - 2 principialities in the centraleast; capital Saladin
  • Kingdom of Alpino - devided into 3 principialities; capital Tomahawk
  • Federal District of the Ayyubids - consisting of one city; City of the Ayyubids

Each state has a Governor a vice-governor a council of legislators and a small parliament. Each principiality has an Emir and a council of district commissioners.

Judicial Branch

Each state has a supreme court consisting out of 5 judges (3 in Farkow). 4 of the judges are appointed for life by the parliament of the state, these judges are known as councilmen. The Governor appoints one additional judge for a period of 5 years. This judge is known as justitia. The justitias of all 9 states form the Supreme Constitutional Court of the Sultanate of the Ayyibids. The Sultan appoints a Justitia-general for a period of 5 years. The Justitia-general is President of the SCC.

Political Parties

There are currently 5 active political parties.

  • The Global Union - Progressive Socialists.
  • The Social Democratic Party - Social Democrats.
  • The Ayyubid Alliance - Nationalistic Environmentalists.
  • The Society of the Conservatives - Conservatives (local Eastern Islands party).
  • Party of the Nortern Regions - Socialists - (regional party in the nortern states).

The current goverment is a coalition of the SDP and the AA.

International Politics

The Sultanate has recently been admitted as a member of the United Nations. The Sultanate is a strong defender of human rights and democratic principles and for that reason finds the United Nations an important organization to be affiliated with.
