The Alliance of Honourable Peoples is a region comprising of nations committed to the four principles of the Alliance: 'Liberty, Justice, Freedom, Security', as quoted in the region's factbook entry.

The first official Alliance Treaty was signed in 1786, between Roudland, Great Wrightland and Yew Island. Several other nations joined in 1799 and 1806 with the first group comprising Gothria, Violet Strawberries, McGranaghantaria, and Zakmenistan. In 1806 Kegmenistan and Beckitaria joined, and since 1834 there has been a large number of applications to the region. A notable nation that applied was Super Rome, which joined in 1989.

At the moment, the Alliance is in a state of flux and change, having just gone through arguably the most defining and significant conlflict of modern times, the Southern Gulf War. Presently, it appears as if DATO will be disbanded, and already the Alliance Council has been dropped from the international agenda, leaving the region in a fairly isolationist state. It remains to be seen what will emerge out of this.

The Alliance has experienced several conflicts in its long history, most notably the Great Alliance War from 1937-1943, the Moronyickan war in 2004, and the Hannigan Island conflict in 2005. In the aftermath of the Southern Gulf War, it appears that the major powers will not be able to fight again for some time.
