This article contains mostly foggy memories because I'm too lazy to research, so don't take any particular fact as gospel, but this is what I recall.  Back in the old time, before the move to Jolt, there was a great nation called Goddessness.  The player was a young lady named Christine who lived in NW USA or SW Canada.  She had a custom flag that may still be found on some nation(s) in the game.  She also had a certain wit and wisdom to her posts that certain other players admired.

This admiration led some players to start the cult of Goddessness.  It is unknown whether it sprang from an individual player's idea or from a group.  Followers of the Goddess changed their flag to match hers (at first without permission and later with permission as she came to realize it was meant as a homage) and their motto to "We Worship the Goddess."  I'd estimate that she had 100 to 200 disciple nations at the highest point.  These followers helped to propel Goddessness to delegate of the South Pacific for a time.

I don't recall the circumstances, but Christine decided to move her nation to the Heartland, prompting a migration of her followers there as well.  There were apparently a couple of groups of players in schools that had all converted to Goddessnessism, but unfortunatley, one  girl in th UK took her admiration too far and a mod presented his strong evidence that a majority of the Goddessness nations were that girl's UN multis.  Mass deletion of the multis left the Goddess with a greatly diminished base of followers.

We remember Christine fondly and Goddessness was a nation well-played, respected, and well-liked.  Goddessnessism is apparently the first, and possibly only, religion to spring from the game itself.  Long live the Goddess!

The Cult of Goddessness

Christine was forced to move her nation to the Heartland, prompting a migration of her followers there as well.

Some of the remaining followers dwelt with Godessness in The Heartland and others in a region also named Goddessness. As of 6/8/05 only one confirmed follower remains in The Heartland, and the region of Goddessness has disappeared. Christine herself was sometimes bemused, sometimes disturbed at the amount of attention she received. Eventually she left the game and is not known to have returned with a different nation.

We remember Christine fondly and Goddessness was a nation well-played, respected, and well-liked. Goddessnessism is apparently the first, and possibly only, religion to spring from the game itself. Long live the Goddess!

Politics in the South Pacific

Goddessness succeeded Killer Monkeys in the first peaceful transfer of power in the South Pacific in a long time in June of 2003. Goddessness did something extraordinary; she established the first regional government of the South Pacific on Killer Monkeys' forum. Soon after, however, a game glitch occurred and allowed The XYZ_Affair to become the dictator of the region. Goddessness was then ejected by XYZ, and was forced to flee to The Heartland, where she stayed for a long time.

Goddessness returned to the SP two years later, in March of 2005. She soon ran for Secretary of Intelligence (now Minister of Intelligence) in the March 2005 elections, and defeated LadyRebels in an epic election of popular former delegates. Goddessness served one term and efficiently ran the Department of Intelligence.

The Miss Tessmacher Scandal

In the July 2005 slections, a nation named Miss Tessmacher ran for Secretary of Intelligence. She was unopposed, and won. She ran unopposed again in the Semptember elections, and won once again. She once again ran in November, but this time she was opposed by Mallancashire. Mallancashire was an unknown, and Miss Tessmacher was once again victorious. But early in her third term, on December 6, 2005, Punk D revealed that Miss Tessmacher was actually Goddessness in disguise. This is was very controversial because Goddessness had supposedly moved to the Pacific and had become the head of BPI. In the fallout, Miss Tessmacher (Goddessness) was forced to resign her position and DickVanDyke, her undersecretary, was appointed as the acting Secretary of Intelligence for the rest of Tessmacher's term.

Redemption

In the January 2006 elections, Goddessness ran for Prime Minister. Fudgetopia decided not to run for Prime Minister, and Goddessness was the clear favorite. She defeated a newcomer, Marionetsvia and once again assumed the role as the leader of the region of the South Pacific.

Goddessness is currently finishing out her first term as Prime Minister.
