The Romance languages are a subset of the Italic languages. Specifically, they are the the descendants of Latin dialects spoken by the common people.
Romance language speakers:
- Pantocratoria: French (3 billion speakers)
- The Dominion: Italian (5.852 billion speakers)
- The Resurgent Dream: French (8 million speakers), Italian (20 million speakers), Spanish (100 million speakers)
Many of the differences between Latin and the Romance languages are structural.
