Mora Tau is a large archipelago in the North Atlantic. Mora Tau was colonised in 1653 by the European Ninaran Empire as three different colonies, Mora Tau, Tara Ha and I Takara. The colony initially served as a base in Ninara's long standing war against the Kingdom of Eicia and later as a prison colony.

Nationalist movements broke out on I Takara, demanding independence. Punk rock suddenly became the most influential movement and their was a failed invasion from the fascist Lubeck Reich. Ninara, cut off from its industrial base, fell into civil war resulting in a communist victory there.

In 1991, large segments of the Soviet Union broke away and Mora tau was dragged into a long and confusing territorial dispute. Fluctuating between the USSR, the Soviet Union and the Land of the Red Army, Mora Tau finally broke away, joining the neighbouring Creature Isles.

In 2003, the Communist Party of Mora Tau, now almost completely composed of anarchists, punks and communist youth, elected a young punk Christina Janke to the position of General-Secretary. Janke brought Mora Tau back into one of the factions of the old USSR. The mohawked punks representing the People's Republic stood in stark contrast to the ageing and uniformed Soviet bureaucrats. In 2004, Mora Tau officially became the Mora Tauan Soviet Socialist Republic.
