Armed Forces

Overview

The military is Vampad's means of defence against both foreign and internal threats. Joining a military branch is voluntary. The Military of Vampad is split into the following branches:

  • Army
  • Navy
  • Air Force
  • Special Forces Branches

Army

Used for foreign intervention and peacekeeping, the Vampad Army is well equipped and trained for a number of combat operations. The army uses the most up-to-date weapons and technology to ensure victory in the battlefield wherever it may be.

The Army utilizes Metal-Gear Units on the battlefield, an advanced walking tank capable of many roles depending on their configuration. These 'tanks' were designed and produced primarily for mobile launch platforms, but have seen many more models made.

Soldiers are given a hard but rewarding training course to begin with, and this is usually followed by regular training schemes in various places in and around Vampad. The varied terrain that exists in Vampad helps suit the training purpose, as it produces soldiers trained in all possible battlefield locations.

The standard trooper is equiped with a Personal Load Carrying Equipment (PLCE), a tough, modular system of camouflaged belt, yoke and pouches. Every soldier has a Mark 6 combat helmet that delivers outstanding ballistic protection while allowing the soldier to still wear a respirator, ear defenders, a radio headset- or all three together. Where additional ballistic protection is required, soldiers are issued Enhanced Body Armour.

Navy

Air Force

Air Force Uniform

The Vampad Air Force is independant from the Army and the Navy and uses a combination of fighters bombers and helicopters. The Vampad Air Force and the Army are both primary military divisons, as Vampad does not require a large naval force because of its location.

The Air Force is well funded and alot of funding is spent on new technologies that can be utilized. The Air Force uses 9 types of aircraft:

  • Fighters, used to destroy other aircraft.
  • Bombers and Attack Aircraft, used to attack ground targets.
  • Reconnaissance Aircraft.
  • Electronic Warfare Aircraft.
  • Airborne Early Warning Aircraft.
  • Transport Aircraft.
  • Tankers which provide in-flight re-fuelling for other aircraft.
  • Helicopters, used for attack, reconnaissance or transport.
  • Training Aircraft.

Currently, the Air Force is going through a major overhaul and is preparing to purchase new aircraft to serve in the Air Force.

Special Forces Branches

The Vampad Special Forces are relatively small military units raised and trained for special operations missions such as Special Reconnaissance Service (SRS), Unconventional Warfare Service (UWS), Special Air Service (SAS), Special Boat Service (SBS) and Internal Defense Service (IDS). These highly-trained, often self-sufficient units rely on stealth, speed, close teamwork, and specialized equipment.

Candidates who hope to join the ranks of a special operations force are volunteers for extremely rigorous selection processes. Often, basic training exceeds two years, and certain missions may necessitate additional training.

Candidates must successfully pass exams in three different areas, these being: Physical, Psychological, and Intelligence. Those candidates who pass the initial course are then led to take the training courses, depending on what Branch they wish to join.
