Overview
The Empire of Mussoline Italy is an average, fair nation, renowned for its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 20 million have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.
The medium-sized government juggles the competing demands of Healthcare, Social Welfare, and Education. The average income tax rate is 19%. A large private sector is led by the Trout Farming industry, followed by Book Publishing and Automobile Manufacturing.
Voting is compulsory. Crime is moderate, and the police force struggles against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Mussoline Italy's national animal is the alligator and its currency is the weed.
Religion
Religion is forever outlawed, as it causes war and unrest!! Nikism, or worship of emperor Nik, is the only religious practice allowed. Religious terrorists plague Mussoline Italy, and the government is cracking down on them.
Law and Order
Though police force is not very strong, once caught commiting a crime, penalties are severe. Murder, rape, religious extremism, race mixing, illegal immigration and sedition are all punishable by death. Pointless offences such as drug laws are legal and minor criminals are sent to labor camps where they repay their debt to society as long as his imperial majesty see's fit!
Defense
Mussoline Italy's branches of armed forces include: The Imperial Armada, The Sky Legion, the Imperial Army, ,and the elite, all volunteer Gladiator Legion. Able-bodied men from age 18-20 are required to serve in one of these branches of military, or in the civil service (police, labor, firefighting, medics). Service in the Gladitiator Legion is strictly voluntary, and all applicants must go through a series of grueling tests and reviews to test their loyaly and capabilities. However, if they pass, they are subject to severe training and allegiance to the Empire, and the result is an elite, loyal and unstoppable fighting force.
Government and Laws
The Empire's government is heavily centrilized around the Imperial throne, colonies and conqured territories recieve only minor representation compared to the father state.
