Setup: Each March is split into planetary zones. These are ruled by a lord. The lord reports to the commander of the march, the duke. He is from a ruling family. New lords are elected by representatives elected from each area of the planet. The duke's heir is chosen by him. The dukes report to the First Prince. Each march has near autonomy in its rule. Citizens have all basic rights, and can get representation. Warlord is the highest rank in the Staric military, and is usually granted to nobles, although commoners have occasionally taken the title.

Prince's Eyes: At least one operative is stationed on every world with and extensive net of contacts. The Blade is honorarily in command of these agents, but they tend to run their own affairs.

The Prince's Blade

The Prince's Blade is a title and tradition that dates back to Starenell when ruled by the Bekker family. During the reign of Captain-General Thomas Bekker, a solidier named Sabrier K'Tan came about. His name, meaning sword of the gods, was not recognized for its potential. He was actually a descendant of the oringinal ruling line of Starenell, the K'Tans, or Gods. He grew in rank and power, eventually becoming one of the Captain-General's key operatives. Thomas Bekker rewarded him with immortality. Sabrier wrote a detailed journal, stored in the Staric Archives. It is only fully acessible by the Prince's Blade, who adopts the name Sabrier K'tan, and the First Prince. This was passed down from Blade to Blade. Eventually, one of the greatest Blades was horribly scared in a battle. He esacped with his life, but he had to forever wear a headdress that masked his head. It is built into the Blades body, and only removed when he dies. A new mask is built for every Blade. The mask represents the sacrifices a Blade must make.

History of Starenell:

Starenell was once a terrible land ruled by demons, but after a centuries-long war, celestial beings took over. They created peace in the land, and ruled in the form of the K'Tan family, then left. The K'Tan family ruled for a while and disappeared, their stewards, the Bekkers ruled as Captains-General, not First Princes as the K'Tan had done. The K'Tan family returned, eventually granting Starenell great technology (Going FT). Starenell discovered the Kearny-Fuchida drive, and explored new planets. The current system of government has evolved over a long time.

Starenell has decided to extend the olive branch to all nations. Any wishing to become an ally of Starenell or have any other diplomatich relations must apply here. We defend our allies to the last man and mech, and expect similar.

Enclave Rules: We will defend your enclave for you, or you can defend it with up to 100 guards. No mechs are allowed, although vehicles are. Enclaves are considered to be sovereign soil of the guest nation, and if a citizen goes to the enclave they are protected by the laws of that nation. Enclaves can be defended any way needed, but no emplacements can be put inside. We can protect our own Enclaves or you can.

There are different degrees of relations consisting of:

Diplomatic Relations The nation has an Enclave and diplomatic relations.

Diplomatic/Trade Relations The Nation has an Enclave and diplomatic relations, Trade Alliance is included.

Trade Relations The Nation is not subject to any tariff imposed on other nations.

Military Alliance The Nation gains the effects of all other relations, and we will protect them.

Note All effects work both ways. Although individual requests will be considered.

Units are usually regimental strength, one types is mixed arms, with one infantry, one vehicle, and a 'Mech battalion formed into a regiment. There are some all 'Mech or all vehicle regiments, but very few. There are a good sized amount of infantry regiments, and many Aerospace.
