Vetalia

General

Vetalia is the name given to the nation occupying the planet Derval IV in the Delpra System. Its population of 2.033 billion primarily occupies the main continent, although population has slowly diffused outward in the past three decades. However, the planetary population still has to recover from the mass exodus and war casualties during Vetalia's conquest of the entire planet during the later part of the second century A.R.. (in Galactic time, the year 2301); generally, it is estimated that some 3.067 billion people fled and another 1.01 billion were killed in the decades-long war. However, the economy recovered rapidly from the shock and now Vetalia boaststhe highest per-capita GWP of the Delpra System. At present, the Vetalian government is primarily concerned with expanding its influence both on the planet's moon (where some 32 million Vetalians live and work) and in the larger solar system.

Government

Vetalia is an Empire, ruled by the Careto Dynasty that has ruled since the revolution that overthrew the old Vetalian Republic in GY 2141 (the year 1AR). Its current ruler is Feydol II Careto, who has ruled since 227 to the present year 233. There are three major levels of government; namely, the Imperial, Continental and Provincial. In addition, there are numerous smaller subdivisions that fall under these three major classifications
