His Imperial Majesty Ian II of House Goodworth (1576-1641) was tsar of The Valerian Empire for eleven months in 1615. He was the last illegitimate emperor to reign during The Age of Many Tsars, a virtual interregnum period. Although his reign was short, he did help set Magnus Valerius on the track for recovery after the devastation caused by the revolt of Rudolf IV.

Early Life

On March 4th, 1576, Ian Goodworth Jr. was born to Ian Goodworth Sr. and his wife Shara in Ianapalis, Iansisle. Ian was born into wealth and aristocracy, but his family was soon exiled from The Grand Empire of the Shield in 1582, when Ian was six. He competed for attention among his younger siblings and older sisters, five in all. When the Goodworths finally settled down in Magnus Valerius, Ian Goodworth Sr. enlisted himself in the military; his past education in the art of war quickly earned him the title of General. The Goodworths made their home in Bragg Point, in the Valerian state of Wilhelmstadt.

Whe the disastrous Age of Many Tsars flared up after the abdication and revolt of Rudolf IV, Ian Jr. was 35 years old, married to a Valerian woman, and with a family of four. His wife, Polina, was a native of Epaminondria, and they were a happy couple that wed in the summer of 1604. Their children were:

  • Ivan (1604 - 1674)
  • George (1606 - 1661)
  • Jessica (1609 - 1672)
  • Benjamin (1611 - 1669)
