The Socialist Empire of TheRussianFederation is a large, safe nation, notable for its strong anti-business politics. Its intelligent population are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, socially-minded government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Social Welfare, Law & Order, and Education. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market.

Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. The national animal is the fox and its currency is the ruble.

The History of TheRussianFederation

The NeoRoman Civil war

Following to steady yet slow decline in loyalty to the Augustus family in NeoRome, Nicholas Eugenius grandson of Leo Eugenius assume the Director's position of the secret NeoRoman police force of the Obsidian Order. Nicholas uses his influential power to turn the NeoCaesar Julius II Augustus against the Imperial Senate. In turn he uses the NeoCaesar's new hostility towards the Imperial Senate to turn them against the NeoCaesar himself. This ignites a civil war putting those loyal to the NeoCaesar (The Loyalists) against those who believe in the NeoRome Republic, which the Imperial Senate plans to build (The Republicans). As both factions fight amongst themselves Nicholas uses the time to begin a Russian Renaissance and lures more and more of the populace to his cause instead of that of the fighting factions. In the closing weeks of the civil war, Nicholas devises a plan to set fire to the entire nation and it works. In the chaos which the fire brings, Nicholas has the NeoCaesar assassinated and the Imperial Senate murdered. With no one to oppose him and the people looking for leadership Nicholas declares himself the new ruler. Nicholas vows to his people to rebuild the nations from the NeoRoman ashes into the greatest power Europe will ever see. He says that it is time the people return to their roots and so he declares himself the first Tsar of the new nation of TheRussianFederation. With this act TheNeoRomanEmpire dies and TheRussianFederation, or by some just simply Russia, is born.
