Eagmont

The Nationalist Government of Eagmont is a massive, economically powerful nation, renowned for its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 1.469 billion are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Education, and Defence. The average income tax rate is 60%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Woodchip Exports industry, followed by Arms Manufacturing and Book Publishing.

The government is avowedly atheist, children have taken to using semaphore in light of the recent mobile phone ban, private business has started paving paradises and putting up parking lots, and new urban roads are threatening city parks. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Eagmont's national animal is the Kiwi, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Eagmont Dollar.
