Ed Fantastic
The Republic of Ed Fantastic is a fiercely patriotic nation. It finds its roots among the explorers of the Old World. they set out to build a nation free of dictatorship, free of the rules and constraints that gave them so little rights and freedoms. However, the ruler of the Old World would not allow a nation such as this to be built. No power was great enough to challenge his position and so a dream was shattered. But in the times of greatest need, great men step forward, and that man was Ed Fantastic. Ed Fantastic publicly proclaimed that he could defeat the mighty dictator in any event he so chose. Being a man of great power and wisdom, the ruler happily accepted, thinking it would be a grand opportunity to prove to the people how rightly he deserved to reign supreme. He set fourth two challenges. One of strength. And one of honor. To this day no one knows what the second challenge was to include, but the first was the most brilliant display of good and evil in the existence of mankind. The King challenged Ed Fantastic to a battle of the Fistic arts(boxing). The story goes that the king was given enhancers allowing him to fight with the strength of a thousand men. He was to destroy Ed Fantastic and all hope of a new nation. Ed Fantastic had far greater numbers joining him in soul. It was an epic fight lasting nearly three hours, leaving more than a hundred viewers injured and the stadium destroyed. The power of the two men had created a storm, and when it lifted one man was left standing. The king of the Old World had defeated Ed Fantastic. Millions of people felt as they themselves had been killed in the fight. They all banded together and with the spirit of Ed Fantastic they killed the king. Then they hopped in boats and found a nice spot and named it for their fallen hero. Twenty-seven generations of Ed Fantastic's heirs have come to advise this nation since that day.
