Beningrad International Airport is the largest and busiest airport in Sorthern Northland. It is located about 15km west of Beningrad, near the small town of Oldpark. It is only since Sorthern Northland gained independance drom Northland that the airport has become so big. Prior to indepance it was the regional airport for Southern Northland and served mainly domestic flights. After independance it became the national airport of the new Sorthern Northland state and served both international and domestic flights. As air traffic increased it became clear the airport was not able to handle both domestic and international travel so the airport was expanded to 8 terminals with a toal of 20 runways, 10 for take-off and 10 for landings. A new airport the other side of Beningrad called Beningrad Domestic Airport was built to cater soley for domestic flights taking the burden off Benningrad International. The airport has since only handled international travel, although the two airports are connected by the Benningrad Airports Railway Connection making it simple to transfer from one airport to the other. About 65% of international air travel in Sorthern Northland is served by the airport. A large number of services from the airport are to other nations in The Pub, although a large number of flights travel to destinations around the world. The headquaters of Sorthern Northlands only airline, Sorthern Northland Airlines are also based at the airport.
