Doujin Class Super Dreadnought

Overview

The most famous of the Super-Dreadnoughts, the gargantuan Doujin Class Super Dreadnought (and, more specifically, its refit) is considered by some the template for most Super-Dreadnought construction, and the ship has spawned countless imitations across Nationstates.

The Doujin-class was less meant for utility than it was for show; it was, as Doujin described it, just about the largest naval vessel size possible (although there are several larger vessels that were built prior to and after the Doujin), and was a serious attempt to see how large a warship could be made, although there is significant disagreement over whether or not the final size achieved is possible or not.

The design itself was based on the older Leviathan Class Super Dreadnought built by The Freethinkers, and was built and launched from the same dockyard in Navarre.

Production

Originally one Doujin was built as the flagship of the Doujin Navy, which served as a group leader in the Allanea-UnAPS War and suffered limited damage in air attacks by Allanea. Once the war had finished and the Government of Doujin had become more dictatorial, several more Doujins were added to the fleet. A total of seventeen Doujins were eventually manufactured, but the Doujin Navy never had the funds to operate more than four at a time. All these ships came into possession of the OMP after the fall of Doujin.

Eventually the design was sold to close allies in the UnAPS alliance in exchange for dockyard space. Modified versions were built in Edolia and Scandavian States, and copies of the design were also manufactured under license by The Freethinkers and Ancient And Holy Terra.

Eventually, however, the prevailance of opposing Super Dreadnoughts and the commercial promise of the design saw limited sales beyond the norm of close allies, and eventually some fifteen to twenty nations acquired various numbers of the Doujin class.

With the fall of the nation of Doujin, the design now officially belongs in the hands of The Freethinkers , and the Government of The Freethinker Commonwealth have decided that, for future stability, Doujin Class production has officially been ceased for good.
