History

The Theocracy of Islamic Provinces was founded on January 8, 2005 by the Islamic-Communist Alliance Party ( Partie Islamique-Communiste d'Alliance ) with Grand Ayatollah Ivan Leonov presiding as the Party's Chairman. A revolution that overthrew the government of the People's Republic of Paix was successful in toppling the capitalist democracy and the ruling Liberal Party ( Parti Libéral ). The revolution was lead by Grand Ayatollah Ivan Leonov and a dedicated group of students, intellectuals, and workers. In a poll conducted within the free media of the Islamic Provinces, the Islamic-Communist Alliance Party has 59.67% approval.

Government

The Government of the Theocracy of Islamic Provinces is a Popular-Theocratic government. Elections for the 450-seat parliament will be held every 2 years. However, Grand Ayatollah Leonov will preside over the chambers for a life term. The parliament as it has stood since the February elections is as follows:

Grand Ayatollah Ivan Leonov (Head of State and Head of Government) presides over the chamber of Parliament known as the National Assembly.

Grand Ayatollah relies on the Parliament to pass laws however, he may install Islamic Law and Martial Law as he chooses with the advice of more than 300 members of Parliament.
