NationStates entry as of 6 June 2005

UN Category: Psychotic Dictatorship

Civil Rights: Few, Economy: Reasonable, Political Freedoms: Outlawed

Location: United Republics of the World

The Dictatorship of Kingladn is a very large, safe nation, remarkable for its compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed, cynical population of 83 million are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defence, and Religion & Spirituality. The average income tax rate is 53%, and even higher for the wealthy. A large private sector is dominated by the Automobile Manufacturing industry.

The government snoops on private internet connections, roads are often attended by round-the-clock construction crews, school uniforms are compulsory, and a crusade against barbaric religious practices has begun. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Kingladn's national animal is the anaconda, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Kingladn dollar.

Kingladn National Song

Loch Lomond

By yon bonnie banks and by yon bonnie braes, Where the sun shines bright on Loch Lomond Where me and my true love were ever wont to gae, On the bonnie, bonnie banks o’ Loch Lomond.

O ye’ll tak’ the high road and I’ll tak’ the low road, And I’ll be in Scotland afore ye. But me and my true love will never meet again, On the bonnie, bonnie banks o’ Loch Lomond.

‘Twas there that we parted in yon shady glen, On the steep, steep side o’ Ben Lomond. Where in deep purple hue, the hieland hills we view, And the moon comin’ out in the gloamin’.

O ye’ll tak’ the high road and I’ll tak’ the low road, And I’ll be in Scotland afore ye. But me and my true love will never meet again, On the bonnie, bonnie banks o’ Loch Lomond.

The wee birdies sing and the wild flowers spring, And in sunshine the waters are sleeping: But the broken heart, it kens nae second spring again, Tho’ the waefu’ may cease from their greeting.

O ye’ll tak’ the high road and I’ll tak’ the low road, And I’ll be in Scotland afore ye. But me and my true love will never meet again, On the bonnie, bonnie banks o’ Loch Lomond.
