Kingladn
The Kingdom of Kingladn is a very large, devout nation, notable for its punitive income tax rates and compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed, cynical population are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."
National Anthem
Loch Lomond
By yon bonnie banks and by yon bonnie braes, Where the sun shines bright on Loch Lomond Where me and my true love were ever wont to gae, On the bonnie, bonnie banks o’ Loch Lomond.
O ye’ll tak’ the high road and I’ll tak’ the low road, And I’ll be in Scotland afore ye. But me and my true love will never meet again, On the bonnie, bonnie banks o’ Loch Lomond.
‘Twas there that we parted in yon shady glen, On the steep, steep side o’ Ben Lomond. Where in deep purple hue, the hieland hills we view, And the moon comin’ out in the gloamin’.
O ye’ll tak’ the high road and I’ll tak’ the low road, And I’ll be in Scotland afore ye. But me and my true love will never meet again, On the bonnie, bonnie banks o’ Loch Lomond.
The wee birdies sing and the wild flowers spring, And in sunshine the waters are sleeping: But the broken heart, it kens nae second spring again, Tho’ the waefu’ may cease from their greeting.
O ye’ll tak’ the high road and I’ll tak’ the low road, And I’ll be in Scotland afore ye. But me and my true love will never meet again, On the bonnie, bonnie banks o’ Loch Lomond.

Born on July 1, 1959 in the highlands of Kingladn, Charles Wilhelm is the oldest of five children to Robert and Valarie Wilhelm.
Charles graduated from Prarie High School in the spring of 1978. Right after high school, he married eighteen year-old Carri Blazynski of Kingladn City and joined the Grand Army of Kingladn Reserves. In late 1978, Charles II was born the new couple. By the time of his Honorable Discharge in 2001, Charles had achieved the rank of colonel. Charles attended the University of Kingladn City from 1978-1982. Charles then began his political career. He was elected to the lower house of Kingladn Parliament in a special election in 1988. After serving six years, Charles ran for the upper house of the Parliament in 1994 and won. He served there for six years, and managed to capture his party's nomination for president in 2000. After convincing Kingladn that President Johnston, the incumbent, was wrecking the nation, Charles won by a landslide in November. He was inaugurated President of Kingladn on 20 Janurary 2001.
His first term was filled with conservative reform of the government, slashed taxes, and increased military spending. When reelection rolled around in 2004, President Wilhelm won by a landslide larger than four years prior. Confident the nation wanted him president, Wilhelm issued Order 87 and temporarily abolished Parliament and Kingladn's Supreme Court. After a special election in which supporters of President Wilhelm were "elected," he reinstated Parliament and appointed pro-monarchy judges to sit on the Supreme Court's benches. President Wilhelm then announced he had appointed himself King of Kingladn, the first monarch since 1795.
King Charles rules Kingladn fairly, but oppressively. Charles often appoints Parliament members and is known to kick Supreme Court judges off the bench after 6 months. So far, the longest lasting judge on the Kingladn Supreme Court was Judge Luke Reinke, serving almost a year and a half, being executed for voting against a pro-monarchy legislation on trial before the Supreme Court. It was a 4-1 vote.
The king is married to Queen Carri and has three children; Crown Prince Charles II (heir apparent), Princess Victoria, and Princess Kathleen. They live in the Royal Palace in Kingladn City overlooking the River Vhil.

Born on November 15, 1962 in Kingladn City, Carri Blazynski was an only child.
She married Charles Wilhelm in 1978, at the age of sixteen, two years before her graduation. She never finished her schooling because she had a son, Charles II, in late 1978. She had a girl five years later in 1983, named Victoria. And in 1988, she gave birth to another girl, Kathleen.
When Charles assumed the throne in 20, she gladly accepted the crown with him.

Born October 29, 1978 to Charles and Carri Wilhelm, the first of three. He joined the Grand Army of Kingladn in 1998 at the age of 20, and is currently a captain.
He is prepared to accept the throne upon his father's passing, but wishes that that day will never come.
Order 87
The last Presidential Executive Order and first Royal Order issued in 2005 by President Charles Wilhelm, effectively founded the Kingladn monarchy after 210 years, but also did the following:
Order 87a
President Wilhelm is hereby granted the title of King of Kingladn while retaining all powers of the former presidency, thus remaining president for life while ruling as king, and also assuming all powers of the Parliament. Abolishing the Parliament of Kingladn, sentencing every member to death and called for a special election.
Order 87b
Abolishing the Supreme Court of Kingladn, sentencing every justice to death and announced the pending reappointment of judges by the new king.
Order 87c
All living former Presidents of Kingladn are sentenced to death.
Order 87d
The Constitution of the Republic of Kingladn is null and void. The new king will draft a new Constitution, in which upon his signature, shall become law.
Order 87e
All citizens of Kingladn shall be required to take a loyalty oath to the God, King, and Country every morning.
Order 87f
All male citizens must serve six (6) years in the Kingladn Armed Forces immediately after their high school graduation.
Order 87g
The king and his family shall own all land in Kingladn and the people who live on that land shall pay taxes in proportion with the size of the plot. This includes, but is not limited to, residential, commerical, and industrial zoned areas.
Order 87 took immediate effect upon President Wilhelm's signature in May 2005.
Presidents of Kingladn
Although mainly figureheads, the Presidents of Kingladn did hold some power. After the House of Lords passed a bill, it was sent to the President for his signature. If signed, it became law. If not, it didn't become law unless the House of Lords had 15 out of the 29 members voting in favor of the bill. After ballots are cast, if the number 15 is reached or surpassed, the bill becomes law without the signature of the President.
Not until the presidency of John Bergquist in 1949, did the Presidency of Kingladn gain more respect. Under his tenure of just four short years, President Bergquist managed to gain the presidency more power. In 1950, Bergquist signed a bill into law that gave the office the right to regualte commerce, taxes, the right to appoint members of the House of Lords, and in extreme cases, voting.
After the coronation of King Charles, Parliament severely limited their power to the point where Kingladn had become a dicatorship.

In theory, the presidency still exists. It is held by the king. After assuming the throne, King Charles outlawed all political parties.
Parliament of Kingladn
Founded after the tyrannical reign of King John XVII came to an end in 1795, the Parliament was, from 1796-2005, the main law-making body. The upper house of Parliament, the House of Lords, was appointed by the President of Kingladn. The lower house of Parliament, the House of the Citizens, was elected by the People of Kingladn.
There were 117 members of Parliament, 88 from the House of Citizens and 29 from the House of Lords. Jointly, they approved legislation and confirmed cabinet posts. Separately the:
House of Citizens: Originated all bills to become law; had the sole power to impeach the President, Vice President, and any member of Parliament; and conclude treaties.
House of Lords: Pass bills; maintain the Grand Army of Kingladn; declare war; conclude war; and generally maintain the wellness of Kingladn.
After President Charles Wilhelm assumed the throne in 2005, the Parliament was retained, although it has pro-monarch members. When it refused to approve the king's son as Crown Prince, King Charles abolished the Parliament, executing all members.
