Jyyka is a large agricultural town in the Luuranko Mountains, about thirty minutes drive out of the Uudesan capital Åsa. It is the birthplace of current Marshal of Uudestaan, Jorma Harkonen.

Jyyka is recorded as existing as far back as the first century CE (STS) and has had a fairly ordinary history, with one notable event happening in 1542 where a freak storm maddened cattle brought in for the market into a frenzy, and they stampeded through the town, causing considerable damage but only a few injuries.

Apart from agriculture, there is also several factories on the outskirts, now all owned by the UTK. The town sports a lower-league soccer team complete with 5,000 seat stadium. Transit to the capital is easy, cheap and quick, with a mainline railway running through the suburbs of the town. In fact, on clear days, the capital is just visible in the distance.
