The Toucans Beak of Adoggo is a massive, economically powerful nation, remarkable for its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 1.468 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.
It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defence, and Commerce. The average income tax rate is 59%, and even higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Automobile Manufacturing, Arms Manufacturing, and Cheese Exports industries.
Adoggo has been recently classified as an international menace after 'liberating' several nearby territories, hundreds of thousands of convicts work as slaves in Adoggo's many privately-owned prisons, the government is spending millions on renovating the public transportation system, and government police forces protect public schools from the threat of protest. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Adoggo's national animal is the sasquach, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation.
