The Aerionian National Stock Exchange (ANSE) is the only official stock exchange in the Grand Kingdom of Aerion. It is privately owned by its members, several members of the Royal Family, and the institution of the Crown. By Royal Edict, the Crown has a permanent spot on the Board of Directors of the ANSE and is represented by the Royal Representative.
The ANSE trades in a continuous auction format. Exchange members interested in buying and selling a particular stock on behalf of investors gather around the appropriate post where a specialist broker, who is employed by a ANSE member firm (that is, he/she is not an employee of the ANSE), acts as an auctioneer in an open outcry auction market environment to bring buyers and sellers together and to manage the actual auction.
The trading floor of the ANSE is located in the Royal Financial Center in the Financial District in Astevane, the capital of the Grand Kingdom. The Royal Financial Center is also home to the Royal Central Bank.
The ANSE is also an commodities exchange trading future contracts.
