Amharic is a Semitic language spoken in many areas culturally or historically related to Ethiopia. It is the third most widely spoken Semitic language in the world after Arabic and Hebrew. It is an official language in the Confederal Member of Carasia and is also the usual working language of the Carasian Orthodox Church.

Amharic is traditionally written in the Ge'ez alphabet although it is becoming increasingly common for it to be transliterated into the Roman alphabet. This is especially true in Carasia where most Amharic speakers also speak English which also enjoys official status there as it does in the Confederated Peoples as a whole.
