Aqua-Oka Pact of 1809

Also known as the AO Pact the 1809 Pact the Aqua-Oka Pact joined together Kanami and Aqua Anu as allies.

As Kanami settled and declared it self an Idependent State, it started to seek freinds and allies in the world. Yasashii Himura went on a journey to find any nation. Most did welcome her, but not to many we're willing to join up with a small rouge state. When she reached the shores of Aqua Anu, Queen Mary Allice Hillard meet Yasashii. Empowerd by Yasashii's wonderous spirit, she began to get even more freindly, and take intrest in Kanami. But Yasashii's Democratic Plans had her concrerned, that she wouldnt' want to associate, as the Queendom wasn't quite a democratic country. But Yasashii brushed off saying, a nation like Aqua Anu could very well teach them how to cooperate and deal with other nations like that. Eventually they agreed they should become freinds The treaty outlined several points, Trade, Defense, and Partnership. Writing took four days, and it was signed

Principals of the Pact

The main goal was to ally Aqua Anu and Kanami together. It also oulined and ephazised the future between both nations.

War Time and Peace Time

In war time the pact stated Aqua Anu may have the rightful choice to join or abstain if any one goes to war for any reason. While it does demand one give provisonal aid to the other, it does allow for an abstantian clause if one nation feels the nation is not at any right to be in such conflict. This has not happend in the pact's history, as both give some aid in some way. Be it full ally support, or partial support, or simply a trade surpluser.

In Peace time both nations will trade with out interuption to eachother. Both will also work to protect each others shipping lanes from piracy, smuggling or simply trade barriers. They will also provide relif in times of crises, provisonal as well as fianancial relife.

Union of Leadership

The pact states that the leaders shall be united for causes that they belive in. Be it a certain alliance, or matters of conflict. If one nation strongly urges the other to do something, both leaders shall meet to discuss the matter.

Co-operation of Fellowships

If both nations bellong to fellowships, (alliances) they will work to co-operate with one another to see the alliances don't break down and fall into chaose, as well as the nations become hostel. It also mandates nither shall be forced to join an alliance should they not desire.

This proved to be a sticky situation with Kanami's membership to the United Nations. As the U.N. enforces all polocies upon Kanami, Aqua Anu may/may not have to adopt such things. It was big mix-up, but Prime Minister Zach Gossard, fixed it. He convinced Queen Hilary Quentien to respect but chose to follow their own path, and not be dominated by the United Nations, as they we're (And still are) a non member. Quentien feerd she may be going against the pact but Gossard felt otherwise. He knew Yasashii Himura didn't want to make Aqua Anu a puppet state just a long time freind.

Critics of the Pact

Both nations have their critics about the pact. While they certainlly like Aqua Anu, they think it's time to revise or simpley get rid of the pact, with fears of them being sucked into unwanted wars, or facing punishment by assosiation.

With the The Hanover Conflict, many including Stevid are seeking to deal with Aqua Anu, outside the treaty set up by the nation of Hotdogs2 and the GDI as well as GASN Kanami is trying to ensure Aqua Anu isn't punished for Kanami's own actions.
