History
Early Periods
Aqua Anu dates far back, it isn't known when the snall archepelico was first settled, but organized government took over about the late 1500's. It was first a Kingdom, ruled by King William Akamaina. however, when the King married, to Dutch Chruchill-Akamaina, and had only daughters, this drove him into rage. He ploted to kill his wife and his daugthers, and then move to the next mistress. The Queen found out about this, and killed the King, and declared the isaland, a Queendom forever. And of course becuase all daughters we're heirs to the throne, this worked. She also put in place a Royal Parlimetn, and safeguards that no one knows how to overide. The Sea Horse Committe made up of entirely Women, also ensure this.
1700's-1800's
As Aqua Anu became organized, it began to grow in population. At first the main island is all it claimed, but this proved to be a crowding problem. Princess- Dutch M. Churchill II, was told by her mother to organize the navy, and go in search of more lands. This became known as the Aquatic Exploration Era. Well lucky enough, there we're 10 small islands surrounding the mainland, and all we're unihabited. But the Queen felt they could use more land still, and to go and claim more beyond Aqua Anu. They had teritory for sterteches, several islands, either inhabited, or uninhabited we're claimed for the Queendom. However the journey's we're long and tiring, and took their tole. Dutch had wrote in her diary often about the expendutres.
The Sea's are rough, the people are hostel, we are doing wonderful things for out home, but it seems to me the costs are outweighing the benifits. We've lost nearly a dozen men. I fear we may lose a dozen more.
Unfortunatley the fleet was caught in a terrible storm, and all perished. Dutch did not have her diary on that fateful trip, but she had made comments about the horrible storms she encounterd at sea, on her previous journies.
Is this God's wrath? Have I sinned? The skies are dark, the waves are high. I pray for land fall, or for calm seas, but it doesn't seem to happen.
By the end of the 1700's Aqua Anu was a surplus Queendom. Sadly the loss of Dutch M. Chruchill II, had a deep affect on the nation's morral. Then controversy arose. With the Death of Dutch M. Churchill II, as well as nearly 1/4 of the Navy, and the constant Hurricanes, people began to blame anyone that wasn't Christain. Discrimination arose, and occasionally violence. This died down soon after, but many still feel it was horrible.
In the 1800's the Navy Reganed it's shere size. Princess Serep Chruchill took the Throne from her late Mother. This would be the last time any of the Churchill's would be in power. In 1806, a massive hurricane struck Aqua Anu, flooding out the city, and killing over a 100,000 people, including the Royal Family. Now a new Queen was needed, and she needed to pull Aqua Anu out of this disaster. Queen Mary Allice Hillard took the throne, and helped Aqua Anu recover.
Queen Hillard had one daughter whom she loved dearly. Anya Xeraphe Hillard 8 when her mother took the throne. When she reached the age of 12, she was terminally ill with what appears to be either Lukemia, or Lymphatic Disease. She died a year later, leaving the Queen heartbroken.
In 1808, Queen Hillard, meet up with Prime Minister Yasashii Himura from The Republic of Kanami. Out of it was formed the Aqua-Oka Pact of 1809, which formed allyship with the Queendom and Republic. Yasashii declared Aqua Anu is a great freind, at a great time. Since then the two nations have always been freinds, despite diffrences.
Queen Hillard was very saddened by Yasashii's death in 1821. She spoke at her funural with a memorable speach: Prime Minister Himura came to our nation looking for freindship. I liked her instantly, there was something about the girl that I couldn't resist. I was worried when I told her the nation isn't exactly like how she would perfer, she told me 'Don't worry, because your diffrences will help us understand the world even better for the future'
Queen Hillard died in 1853, at the age of 60. In a filp situation the Prime Minister of Kanami, came and spoke at her funural: The Passing of this noble Queen is sad for all Anuiens But we share in your mourning, just as you shared in the mourning of our wonderful founder. Queen Hillard was a wonderful woman, just like Yasashii.
She was suceeded by Queen Hilary "The Storm Queen" Quentien. She was given that name because of her jetblack hair, resembling storm clouds, and her often shifting and unpredictable personality. (It's thought by some she may have had Multiple Personality Disorder and her fearlessness on rough seas. Unlike many Queens in the past she didn't want to be cheuferd around. She perferd to sail her self, and once she sailed all the way to Kanami for a meeting. Queen Quentien, perfected relations between Aqua Anu and Kanami, making them even closer allies. In 1856, a dispute broke out between Aqua Anu and several nations about the islands around and aborad. Many began to claim the 10 islands surrounding AA, belonged to other nations. Some even threatend to invade and reclaim the land. This was settled when Aqua Anu leased the islands they claim abroad, for nearly 2 cents and acere. This save Aqua Anu war, but many felt it put Dutch M. Chruchill II's work in vain. The Storm Queen ruled till she was 96, making her the longest Queen in history. She died from natural causes, having no children.
1900's-2000's
In the early 1900's the Strom Queen was still in power, but Aqua Anu began to thrive. It's economy was booming, and disaster rates we're low. Although harsh hurricanes still struck the island, people we're becoming better prepared. Untill the Great Storm of 1969, which was even worse than before. Aqua Anu was in ruins, and the death toll was rising. Alexandra Calvert a survivor wrote several articles about that night, and they became a block buster Motion Picture (see Motion Pictures of NS)
Fortunatley the strong economy proved to get it back on it's feet. Through out the 1900's Domestic Situations revised. Aqua Anu became more secular, and more open to change. Public Nudity was an issue because of the hot weather year round. State religion, was also a big issues. Although no religion was established by the state, most of the people we're Catholic. After a few weeks of debate The Religion State Act of 1976 was introduced, specifically prohibiting religion to be established by the Government, Although this hadn't happend before.
In 1990, the Throne was suceeded by 19 year old Queen Mikaux Akoowa. Today she is 36. Mikaux was married but divorced leaving her to raise her baby daughter Subaru alone. Today Subaru is 16, and the heirss. She also helps run the nation. Though Subaru is a Catholic convert, and her mother is Agonist. But her Mother Loves her and respects her just the same.
Very recently, both Subaru and Mikaux decided Aqua Anu needed a ground assault army. Having relied mostly on Naval power for years. But Aqua Anu still has no airforce, and usually asks others for help.
Geography
Aqua Anu is made up of several city-islands with a large one dead center. Natural canals paved the way for all boat transport.
Mac Anu
Mac Anu is the largest city-island in Aqua Anu chain. It's also home of the Royal House and is the most popluated. MacAnu has both appartments and houses, but with space limits, housing isn't cheap. Some live on house boats to stay away from the crowds, and city noise. It also has the nations university, and most of the schools. Most travel to Mac Anu to send their children to Public School.
Aquatica
Aquatica is the second largest but furthest away from the Main Island. This has more of a suburb feel to it, and also holds the Queen and Princess' vacation home. There is one private school here, but it has limited admission per year.
Magdalene
Magadaline hosts the biggest Catholic Chruch in Aqua Anu. This is where Subaru attends her services. It has mostly appartment complex's and some office buildings. There aren't any schools, or other public service buildings.
New Venice
NV literally has a feel of old Venice Italy. Much of it's archetecture is based on Roman Designe. The Nations second largest Libary is held here (The Royal Libary in Mac Anu is the largest) and so are the homes of many people. This has created a bit of a hazar, which has forced the Queen to bar any further development on that island. And if you are lucky enough to build on the island, the costs are outragous.
Crystal Lake
When Crystal Lake was discoverd the lake was very very shiny. This was because of the sunlight position on the water. This led many to belive there we're diamonds in the water. This proved to be tragically false. Many people died attempting underwater mining. Today it's settled with small neighborhoods, and two major apartment complexes.
Carmida
This island was orginally named Cape Dutch in honor of the late Dutch M. Churchill II However it was renamed by Queen Hillard as a shadow to Kanami's capital city Carmina Gadalica. In the old Akoowan language Carmida is actually Carmina, but by todays langauge stadards it is pronounced Carmia (the d is silent) this can prove to be very frustrating for tourists.
Ophu
In Akoowan Ophu means fort. This was named because most of the Navy was stationd here during the explorationg period. It was personally named by Princess Churchill, and she had planed to change it later, but after her death, the people decided against renaming. Ophu today has one Naval Base, but thats it. It's mostly used for Commerce and business. Because it's so small further devlopment is forbiddien due to storm hazards.
Pearl
Pearl doesn't have any real pearls here. But fauxperals are made here as well as pearl harvesters. Therefore it's one of the richest islands in the chain, and is home to many wealthy people.
Port Anya
Was namless for sometime. Princess Churchill had planned on naming it when she returned from her last voyage. When Queen Hillard took office, her young but sickly daughter Anya Hillard, went and dedicated the island, shortly before her death. It was named Port Sernity, but it was renamed Port Anya, for it's dedicator.
Azure Island
Azure Island has it's name cut out for it. It's the only Island that sits on Azure Colord Water. Many have wonderd about this, but no one has been able to epxlain it. Some speculate natural rock sedmits reflect the sunlight to give it the azure color. Unfortunatley it's also one of the poorest islands. When Queen Quentin declared it Semi-Autominus, it's went on it's own. Subaru and Mikaux are trying to reconect the island with the Main Government, but nothing has worked yet. It's been known to harbor smugglers and pirates
It's located south of the Equator, but far north from the south pole.
Climate
Becuase of it's location, it's very hot and humid. This often makes Public nudity no big deal. Though it's unlikely to go around completly nude, it isn't unheard of. Loose breezy clothes are worn even by the most religious. It's also very rainy, with frequent lightning. If you asked a person from Aqua Anu to describe snow, they may just look at you blankley. It has never snowed in Aqua Anu once ever.
Culture
Again with the hot climate, people are very likely to go around half dressed or otherwise, show off their skin in their bating suites. It's even become a common joke among teenagers called fan-boy service, for the appeal to boys
It's so hot women have even been known to cook in Bikinis. And people don't mind sleeping nude either. But this is a trend mostly on teenage gils, though all boys will sleep shirtless. Although people do have rain gear on hand, rain is a pleasure as it cools off the cities. So people may or may not put on their raincoats and hats during a rain storm. Only usually during prologned heavy rainstorms, and sailing trips. But lightning is what you have to watch out for. Beaches are popular amongst the crowd. It isn't uncommon to go topless, but most still wear light swim wear, to not only keep cool, but gain that sex appeal as well.
If not the beaches, then the pools. Many pools are both outdoor and indoor. All have diving boards and water slides. Some kids just have fun doing water fights with buckets and squirt guns. It's a common thing amongst kids of Aqua Anu, who will spend their allounce just to have a water fight at the local pools or beaches.
Otherwise people cool off in the Movie Theaters.
When picking a career, you are most likely to work with or around water. Many fish, or work in Water Plants, which desalt water, and make sure it's clean. But this work can get dangerous, you may have to fix a gate in a ragin storm. There are thoes few white collar men and women, but not a lot.
Schools are fully intergrated, literally. At the High School Level (grades 9-12) bathrooms and lockers are unisex, and P.E. Classes become Co-Ed. Students wear uniforms, but will be granted lininecey on very hot days. Hurricane and Tsunami Drills are ran throughly, that they become almost routine. Older kids love to tease the younger ones telling they are really bomb drills.
Who doesn't love a good sun-set? Aqua Anu has plenty of glorious sunsets. People do enjoy the sunsets, but you get used to them after a while.
In Aqua Anu when you reach 16 you are allowed to sail to various island on your own, with or with out an adult. It gives teens freedom to move about, but thoes that don't have boats, just use the water taxis. There are two main racial groups in Aqua Anu, Cauanuien (a caucasian Aqua Anuien) and Tanueien, an Aqua Anu person with naturally tan skin. (such as the picture bellow) These racial classes however, are meerly for demographic purposes, and there is very little discrimination. Because its usually hard to tell who is natrually tan and who's been in the sun for a while.
Government
There are no elections in Aqua Anu, you are chosen by bloodline by a group of special women, whom are a closely guarded secret.
The Queen has absolute power, and the Princess has power. If you marry, the husband will take the name of the queen.
The Government though remains unoppresful, and gives people freedom.
Natrual Disasters
Flood and Hurricanes are the biggest therats to Aqua Anu year round. Aqua Anu obviously has fortofied walls to protect them, but there is always that risk.
Every so often the cannals will overflow and flood. This is why Water Plants are needed to keep cannal water clean, to prevent disease.
Tsunami's are rare but have happend in the past. These signs are always in place around the country.
Huricane Aleart System
Aqua Anu has it's own Hurricane Alert Scale for people to follow. It displays regularly when hurricanes are at their peak of activity. There are 5 alert levels that advise citizens whether or not evacuation should occure. The Governmen may also use it to order mass evacuation.

Controversy
Recently Aqua Anu participated in the LifeWyze Probe. Although the committe founded the council to be as safe as it possibly can be, Subaru felt otherwise.
The world must defend from this evil company that sells weapons of mass destruction.
This would only esclate when a former Aqua Anu resident that was half animal alleged LifeWyze ran experminets on her, putting her in the state she was.
Although many would argue that it's fine in these dangerous times to purchas chemical and bio weapons, Subaru tells otherwise.
There is no justification to these weapons. Just as there is no justification to blowing up a building full of woman and children. That is what these weapons do, and that is how LifeWyze makes it's money doing that. They care nothing of the people they hurt. They are a organized global terrorist network.
Many would argue Subaru's claims are unfounded, and that would bran to anynation that purchase it. Subaru did in fact say something to that extent. On Aqua Tonight
She gave this statment: Any nation that buys these weapons should be considered terrorists. It's not like a normal bomb which can be contained, these have spread effects, people thousands of miles away can become sick, and they aren't apart of any war.
Both the Queen and Subaru stand by their statments. While some may criticize them for that, others would complement.
Aqua Anu was heavily criticized by Stevid Independent Hitmen and Hotdogs2 Following the Hanover War. GDI and Stevid sought to punish Aqua Anu quite severly for their involvment. Prime Minister Elenore Romeny of Kanami, inisested AA be left alone, as they were a coaltion force, and had as much right as I.H. This has left them feeling frustrated and persecuted.
