The GV Enlistment Advocate of Arathi Basin is a massive, environmentally stunning nation, renowned for its compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 1.794 billion are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.
It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Law & Order, and Education. The average income tax rate is 100%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology industry, followed by Arms Manufacturing and Uranium Mining.
There has been a series of riots between local cannibals and health food advocates, the government seizes all major gold finds, senior citizens can usually be found doing heavy manual labour, and police officers are seen patrolling the streets armed with satellite-guided truncheons. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Arathi Basin's national animal is the Succubus, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Gold coin.
