"The land who's skin is of ice but who's heart is of fire" - Prekrasnaya Zemlya

Arctic was economically the first industrialised region in the entire Polar world, mostly attributable the Mark Wung's reforms of Prussiatopia; Prussiatopia had later spread the word of both industrialisation AND communism throughout Arctic and the Polar world, plus Arctic is the historic center of the Polar Union.

Arctic was under the 'fascesque' rule of the regional organization known as the Glacial Empire, which was founded under Ohrder with aid from The Ice Bears but now poised to change after the demise of Ohrder and most of the administrators of the GE.

There have been officialy three main eras of ideological prominence: the Mark Wung era in which communism (supported by the Polar Union) was by and large the only ideology endorsable within the region - it was combined with a huge industrialisation programme to get Arctic out of the prehistoric era that it was in from birth before Mark Wung; the Fascist era, mostly endorsed by Ohrder of the Glacial Empire; and now, the 'free' era - where officialy, no power exists, and nations can go about their business (this is despite a decline in apathy for advancement or economic growth and therefore a slip back into the prehistoric era). Both the Polar Union and the Glacial Empire are largely dead organisations. After many debates and heated arguments between the politicians of both 'sides', the situation culminated in the Freetopian founders leaving the Arctic to found Freetopia in an attempt to put their more liberal political views into practice. Thus Freetopia was born
