Arctic remains one of the least explored, studied, and understood places on earth.
The Prussiatopia regime once had this region under an organisation called the 'Polar Union' which reunified several Arctic states. It had introduced the basis of communism in the region; this turned out to be a failure and so the region gradually became more capitalist. Soon, a mixture between fascism and capitalism ensued (that was largely supported by resources outside of the Arctic in the Polar Union) until the Ohrder regime was sworn in. Now, Ohrder has been officialy voted in; some argue that despite the fact that he isn't an official regime, he has many qualities of "benevolent" dictatorship. Although less fascist elements exist, Arctic is largely capitalistic in economic nature. Arctic is also home to a small pocket of socialist nations, including Test Icicle, Aldaera, and former delegate Kjonnigland.
Although there was a slight economic downturn by the Polar Union's collapse (figures range from -2 to -20% growth), the economy is said to have surpassed those times, but at a slower growth rate now than then.
The Federation of Thule and Hjaltland was founded in April 2006. It resides in Arctic, and is a very active member of the Arctic Community and a budding member of the United Nations.
Several nations from Arctic decided to form their own region, Freetopia. This region is now allied with Arctic.
