Aristonople

Aristonople is the capital of Bilbtoria, a principality in the Resurgent Dream. Aristonople had, as of 2005, a population of 312,380, making it the second largest city in Bilbtoria after Timonople.Aristonople is home to the University of Civic Virtue, one of the two most prestigious universities in the nation.

Origin of name

Aristonople is a corruption of Aristopolis, a name meaning city of the best. It was named to capture the high aspirations of its founders for the city's future. However, the name is also sometimes associated inaccurately (especially by non-Greek speakers) with the classical philosopher Aristotle. This is due not only to the superficial similarity of the names but also to the popularity of Aristotle at the University of Civic Virtue, the largest institute of higher learning in the city and one of the largest in the Confederated Peoples.
