Azorean Administrative Divisions

The Azorean Republic is formally constituted by three different Republics:

  • Republic of the Azores
  • Republic of Anglovictoria
  • Republic of Nova Angola

Despite each one having a proper Parliament, the Parliament of the Republic of the Azores stands included in the Azorean Senate. Members of the Parliaments and the Senate are directly elected in popular elections.


Republic of the Azores

According to the Primus Inter Pares system established by the Constitution, the Republic of the Azores stands as first among equals. Being the largest and most populous Republic, it is home to the Senate, where the Azorean Republic's main decisions are taken. It is composed by three provinces: Ponta Delgada, Vila Franca and Mercoburg. Its capital is Ponta Delgada.

Province of Ponta Delgada

Capital of the Republic of the Azores and the Azorean Republic. One of the most important cities in Europe, and one of its main financial centres. Its stock exchange is one of the most influential in the region, only behind the FTSE. It hosts many relevant corporate groups, such as the SFC and the Partido Nacional-Republicano.

Province of Vila Franca

Important industrial centre in Northern Azores. One of the most densely populated cities in Northern Europe, it is also one of the most polluted. Nevertheless, it is the most important codfish producer in Europe.

Province of Mercoburg

Cultural and historical capital of the Azores. The University of Mercoburg is widely known as one of the best in Europe, having educated many of those who are today world leaders. It was capital of the Azores until 1928.

Republic of Anglovictoria

After the Anglovictorian government collapsed, the Anglovictorian National Front called for Azorean aid. Facing an occupation by Alamein forces, Azorean forces militarily occupied the North of the country, establishing there the Republic of Anglovictoria. Its capital is New Stratford, a prosperous gambling centre.

Republic of Nova Angola

In 1967, a volcanic island in the Northern Sea of Liberation emerged from the sea. Rich in uranium, it was immediatly ocuppied by the Azores and Yugostrana, who divided the island in two. Azorean forces established the Republic of Nova Angola in the Southern half of the island. Its capital is Nova Lisboa.
