The Ba'ath Arab Socialist Party is the ruling Party of Karuchea and has been since the Party was founded in 1997. Though Karuchea had always been for Pan-Arabism, it was primarily based out of the Third Universal Theory until 1990. When founder, Muhammed El-Shabazz died and Hafez Al-Akim tried to privatize, the military stepped in and executed Hafez, declaring martial law in 1994. It was decided only Arab Socialism could unify the Arabs and build Socialism and the Ba'ath Arab Socialist Party was founded by Mohammed Nyerere in 1997 to constitute this goal. The Party is the ruling party, no other parties are allowed in government and it is said, critically, that to gain any high post in the government that you must be a member of the Party. Today the Party is led by General Secretary Mohammed al-Ahmar.

The Party also has branches in most Arab countries, the most prominant being the branch in Mengistua which is part of the Mengistuan Civil War as part of the Rebels based out of Qunaytirah.
