The Arab Republic of Karuchea is a Socialist state led by the Ba'ath Arab Socialist Party. It's economy has been booming since the Arab-coup of 1965.

History

Colonization

Karuchea is relatively new as a political entity and was founded by the British who used it as a base on the edge of Europe and the Middle East. It has many people of Persian and Kurdish descent as well as Arabs, who are the majority. The Colony of Karuchea was split into a civil war in 1914, with the Kurdish-population revolting, a similar situtation occured during World War II. Finally, the Country was granted independance in 1945.

Independance and Chinese influence

After independance, a Kurdish military force seized power and established a council dictatorship. Firm supporters of the Chinese Revolution, they subsequently sided with the Chinese in the Sino-Soviet Split. However, this minority rule was not appreciated by the Arab population and he was overthrown in 1965 and replaced by Muhammed El-Shabazz.

Arab Nationalism

Muhammed El-Shabazz established himself as dictator and founded the Great Socialist Jamahiriya of Karuchea which alongside Prachanda and Quezadria founded the Green Revolution region. They were soon joined by Eskvindblair, Afemera and other non-Arabs who were friendly to Arab Socialism. Karuchea was frequently near-war due to a militant Pro-Arab and Pro-Islam stance across the world. Despite rather harsh rule by Shabazz, the nation was prosperous and the people genuinly supported the foreign policy of their country. El-Shabazz signed a co-operation pact with the Soviet Union in 1971 and began to move towards close relations with the Socialist Bloc. Soon it was conducting 40% of it's trade with the nations of the Council for Mutual Economic Assisstance and became an observer in it. El-Shabazz died in 1990, but not after harshly criticizing Perestroika and Glasnost. His successor, Hafez Al-Akim, led them on a far different path after the fall of the Soviet Union and the loss of 40% of trade.

Post Soviet Era

Hafez Al-Akim attempted in the aftermath of the USSR and Muhammed El-Shabazz, to privatize the economy, however, riots and insurrection led to the declaration of martial law. The leader of the military Mohammed Nyerere then led a coup in 1994 which overthrew Hafez Al-Akim and created the Arab Republic of Karuchea, in 1997 the Ba'ath Arab Socialist Party was formed, switching the government to civilian rule and in 2002 the new constitution was enacted with Baathist, Mohammed al-Ahmar as President.

Economy

Karuchea runs socialist economy, whose purpose is to serve the needs of the people. The economy is a planned one and runs a series of 5-year plans. The First Five Year Plan of Karuchea lasted from 2001-2005. It calls for increased production of food and heavy industry. As part of the new constitution, private property has been taken over by the state.

Religion

The constitution provides freedom of religion. Religion is very important to the average citizen and 90% of the country follows Islam with a further 9% following Catholicism. Despite providing for freedom of religion, only Christianity, Judaism and Islam are enshrined in the constitution as religions of the country with Buddhism also allowed to exist. It is said that all churches and mosques report directly to the Ba'ath Arab Socialist Party.

Society

Crime is extremely low by any standards and now is virtually non-existant due to the history of Islamic Law. Society is very centred around Socialism with kids being in the Young Pioneers and Young Ba'athist League until they reach the age to be in the Party. Right now most everything in the country is centred on the Party and the victory of Ba'athism. Although this revolutionary surge may wane. Society is very equal and more Women are in the ruling party than any other Islamic Country on earth.

Foreign Policy

Karuchea's military is large and experianced in all situations due to its highly militant stances in the past. It is considered by many to be the leader of the Arab world and right now it is part of the Arab League. Currently 250,000 Karuchean troops are abroad involved in the Mengistuan Civil War

National Anthem

The national anthem of Karuchea is "Risen From Ruins"

Lyrics

Risen from the ruins and faced towards the future,
Let us serve you for the good, Karuchea, Socialist fatherland.
Old woes we will have to conquer, and, united, so we shall,
For it lays within our power that the sun, beautiful as never before,
Shines over Karuchea.
Happiness and peace be granted Karuchea, our fatherland.
All Arabs now long for Unity, so go forth and extend your hand.
When as brothers we unite, we defeat the people´s foe.
Let it shine, the light of Peace! so that no mother again must
Mourn her son.
Let us plough, let us build, learn and work as never before,
And, in confidence and strength, a free generation will come forth.
Youth, the best endeavor of our people combined in you,
You will give Ba'athism life. Then may the sun, more beautiful than ever
Shine over Karuchea.
