Overview
The Glorious Dynamocracy of Beautancus is a huge, socially progressive nation, renowned for its compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of roughly 725 million is ruled by a small, efficient Theocratic government with heavy Technocratic leanings.
It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it devotes most of its attentions to Defence, with areas such as the Environment and Law & Order receiving almost no funds by comparison. The average income tax rate is 86%. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Arms Manufacturing industry.
Citizens are permitted to carry concealed handguns, nervous homeowners have been blamed for rising death rates amongst carol singers and locksmiths, and the tenet of free speech is held dear. Crime is relatively low, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Beautancus's national animal is the Running Monkey, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Labor Credit.
