Coming from a blue collar family in an industrial suburb of Courtland, young Becka Martinson turned to the military for an opportunity to attend university. With high grades in mathematics and science and high scores on standardized university admissions exams, Becka easily qualified for the Air Force's junior officer program.

After five years at university, Becka graduated with a Master's Degree in engineering and logistics management and a commission as a second lieutenant in the Dominion Air Force. As an officer, Becka rose quickly through the ranks on the basis of her technical expertise. In 1986, Bekca married fellow officer, pilot John Harrison. John and Becka both worked on experimental aircraft.

Quickly rising to the rank of Major, Becka was assigned to manage a research project to develop hypersonic aircraft engines. Meanwhile, her son, Matthew Harrison, was born in 1991.

Becka's success in researching hypersonic engines led to the commissioning of the X-6 project and her promotion to Colonel. As the X-6 Project Manager, Becka demonstrated the feasibility of the pulse detonation wave engine. Tragically, her husband died while piloting the X-6 in 1996.

Despite the loss, Becka continued her rise, earning promotions to Brigadier General and to Major General. The hypersonic research program also continued, progressing from the X-6 through to the X-9, code-named Ozymandius. Becka's success, and her lack of political involvement, caught the attention of General Craig Altman, Commander in Chief and Chairman of the Provisional Ruling Counicl, who named Becka his Chief of Procurement and Research.

After rising to the senior levels of the Directorate of Defence, Becka realised that the Dominion had grown corrupt after years of military dicatatorship and began to question her loyalty to the regime. The infamous Massacre of Courtland galvanized Becka's opposition to General Altman's rule and led her into an alliance with a group of officers led by Major Richard Thorsen of the Special Security Service (known as the SSS) and a group of dissidents within the Chamber of Industrials lef by Forrest Turley, who both wished to remove General Altman from power.

Becka eventually appealed to the Commonwealth of Varessa, which had signed an agreement with the Dominion to develop a weapons system for the X-9, to join her efforts to remove General Altman from power. The Varessans, who had also developed misgivings about General Altman following the Massacre of Courtland, agreed to assist Becka and her rebels.

The assassination of Attorney General Diana Silina in 2004 led to an acceleration of the dissident's coup plot. After an aerial assault on General Altman's HQ, carried out by the X-9 using the new Varessan weapon, Becka Harrison took control of the National Military Command Centre (known as the NMCC) and proclaimed herself the constitutional President of the Dominion. President Harrison pledged to hold elections and to restore civilian government.

In early 2006, the Dominion held its first national election in 76 years and seated a new National Assembly. Presidential elections have not yet been scheduled. However, President Harrison has repeatedly stated that elections will be held as soon as possible.
