Beholder

Also called Spheres of Many Eyes or Eye Tyrants, Beholders are 8-foot wide spherical creatures. Their body, a bulbous orb that hovers above the ground, is dominated by one main central eye. Ten smaller eyes attached to swinging tentacles sprout from the top of the orb. A maw of many long and vicious teeth extends below the central eye. These creatures often attack without provocation, and are terrible opponents, as their many eyes are capable of generating powerful magical rays, and the central eye has many powerful abilities, such as the ability to negate magic or dominate the minds of it's victims.

Beholders are tipically brought into the world from far-off realms by powerful magic. The Thanedom of Technocratic Republics uses them widely as an effective combat unit. The Beholder is also used as a form of Spelltouched creature

The lesser form of the Beholder is called Gauth.
