The Coastal Command of the Community Defence Forces of Sober Thought is an integrated tri-service organisation with installations on Bristle Island, Potato Island and the mainland. Bristle Island, North Mainland and South for the three quasi-independent sectors. A Vice Marshal with headquarters in Drewburgh is the senior officer in the command in the first population wave of one hundred million, whose rank and influence increases with each subsequent population wave.

Land Service

The army, or CDF Land Service, contributes a Coastal Artillery Division of about 10 000 all ranks to the command. A Chief Commander is responsible for the division as a whole, but it is broken up into three more or less independent Brigade Groups.

A Commander, with staff in the headquarters company, directs the operations of each brigade group. They consist of two coastal artillery, two air defence artillery, one infantry and one support battalions each. The support battalion consists of one construction engineering, one electrical and mechanical engineering, one supply, one medical and one headquarters company.

Naval Service

The navy, or CDF Naval Service, contributes a Naval Coastal Task Force of about 3 500 all ranks (including CDF naval aviation). Unlike the army and air force contributions to this command, the navy's resources are liable to be reallocated in support of fleet requirements.

A Chief Commander controls twelve major and twenty-four minor vessels. Most of the major vessels are organised into two Anti-Submarine Task Groups, each consisting of a flagship destroyer and four frigates.

The remainder of the vessels are organised into a Small Craft Task Group of submarines, fast patrol boats, minesweepers/layers and small craft tenders. The Mine Warfare Task Detachment consists of one tender and nine mine warfare boats, and the Inshore Patrol Task Detachment consists of one tender and twelve attack boats. Finally, the Submarine Task Detachment consists of three submarines.

Air Service

The air force, or CDF Air Service, contributes a Coastal Defence Air Group of about 4 500 all ranks under a Chief Commander and an Administration Squadron. Like the Coastal Artillery Brigade Groups, the three Coastal Defence Wings operate more or less independently.

Each Coastal Defence Wing's field element consists of one FN-1 Faina fighter, two RB-78 Robert and R-78 Roland maritime patrol, and two HUS-77 Hudson helicopter search and rescue.

The utility element consists of one FNE-1 Fannie light naval electronic warfare, one TL-62 Tommy refuelling and one RE-78 Remy AWACS flights, each of three aircraft. The support element consists of one administration and one maintenance squadrons.
