Cannadiar is a nation in Freetopia, It is transferring to Anarchy and has an increasing population of about 1.75 billion. Cannadiar is a developing country, but is slowly recovering from it's depression caused by its war with Selvino.
History
Beginnings
Before the establishment of The Republic of Cannadiar, Cannadiar was a term used to describe the 46 tribes that lived in the cannadian area. in 705AS, A chief of one of these tribes united all the tribes under one banner. Cannadiar then expanded to the west to meet borders with Selvino, and south to meet the sea. The southern part of the expansion would later recieve independance as the nation of Sweedun. Cannadiar became a democratic nation after the Cannadian Revolution, the Orgál (Monarch) was overthrown and elections were held every 8 years. This later was reduced to 4 and then again to 3.
Rise
Cannadiar began to prosper and in the next 1000 years Cannadiar grew and advanced. Cannadiar began to break away from it's beginnings as a agricultural nation and began to build large factories and held a powerhouse of an economy. The success of the nation overshadowed it's neighbour of Selvino and tensions between the nations escalated along with the differences in politics. Whilst Cannadiar held a capitalist, centre-right political view, Selvino held a far left communist ideology. In 1876, Selvino invaded Cannadiar therefore declaring war. Approximately 100,000 troops entered Cannadiar in Operation Black Plague and much of the nation became under Selvinos control. Cannadiar fought back sending a large force (~350,000) into the invaded territority. The enemy was unable to fight tremendously in the foothills of west Sweedun and suffered tragic losses, In about 3 months with fierce fighting Cannadiar had pulled the front line to the border and was spilling blood in enemy territory. Selvino dedicated most of it's forces to the front line and the fighting remained on the borders for the rest of the war. In 1879, Sweedun insisted upon independance seeing Cannadiar in it's situation with the war, it was then that Sweedun became an independant nation peacefully. In 1885, casulties were at depressingly high rates and morale was weakening. Cannadiar, using the west coast of Sweedun launched a naval assualt on the south of Selvino in August, 1886, this attack was caught unawares and the capital was seiged and captured in a short time.Selvino subsequently surrendered, and was absorbed as a new part of Cannadiar.
Consequences of The War
the war had cost Billions of Yannals and Zváyóú Aídan, was KIA in the war. The costs of this war meant that Cannadiar went into a depression coupled with the collapse of the Dubrai corporation which resulting in disastrous and catastrophic economic downfalls. Unemployment rose by 5% in some areas, to 32% in others and the economy was very weak compared to other nations. Erik Melvin became PM in 1895 and took a central-left political position and pulled Cannadiar out of it's economic slide towards collapsation and into steady growth, thousands of schools and hospitals were vuilt and Cannadiar started to get on its feet again, Like Zváyóú Aídan had done in the 1860's and 1870's.
Present and Future
Cannadiar is now becoming an Anarchy. Current PM Blake Disollaff, elected in 1905 has begun a National Vaccination programme to combat DUTTHU, which is one of the major causes of death in Cannadiar. Cannadiar created it's own currency in 1824 and is now used in Sweedun,Zomgonia & Cannadiar.
