The Chevrokian Republic (Norwegian: Republikk Chævrøkia, Spanish: República Chevrokiá, Russian: Pеспублика Чвроҝиа), also Chevrokia, is a large, democratic, developed nation in the SupercarsNet region. Though previously an isolationist nation, more recently they have developed a more global involvement with international events, particularly in the Beltway - Gilabad conflict, detailed further below.

International Relations

The Beltway - Gilabad Conflict

After the ICLU massacre, in which pro-abortion supporters were executed by the Gilabad Secret Police (GSP), forces from The Beltway, Pythagoria, and Quaon were posted in Gilabad to help evacuate the liberals. When The Beltway detained 12 GSP personnel, Gilabad responded and attacked the Beltway forces at their temporary base.

A vicious battle ensued, between infantry, tanks, and aircraft from both sides. Though putting up a fierce resistance, the Beltway forces were overrun, though some were able to evacuate the base. In the meantime, a naval combat force from six countries, consisting of some 700 vessels, were either at the scene or would soon arrive.

The President of the Chevrokian Republic, Ragnar Johanson, believed that the Gilabad government and their genocidal practices, should be removed from the world. The Chevrokian support initially for the conflict was two CCN carrier battle groups, an AWACS plane, and four tankers.

As the Chevrokian task force, made up of the Garrison and Minneapolis carrier battle groups, approached the Gilabad coast, a strike force made of 30 F/A-22s and 15 F/B-51s were sent to attack the Gilabad fleet. On the way there, however, a group of 50 enemy F-14s took flight and set course to destroy the Chevrokian AWACS and tankers already airborne. The fighters diverted to defend the support planes, and a missile fight broke out. 45 enemy F-14s were destroyed, at a cost of 8 F/A-22s and a KB-60 tanker.

Later that day, the government of Gilabad sent out a cease-fire to all nations invovled, and it was reluctantly agreed to. President Johanson flew to Georgetown in The Beltway, to participate in the Georgetown Peace Conference.

The Georgetown Conference

The first day of the Georgetown Conference began with a treaty proposal from The Beltway's Foreign Minister, Mark Warner. The conditions were as follows:

1. Gilabad is to admit responsibility for beginning the conflict. 2. Gilabad is to sell the most distant of its offshore islands to The Beltway for a sum of $50 million US. 3. Gilabad is to rescind its law permitting the GSP to summarily execute accused criminals without trial, and to guarantee to all accused criminals the right of due process.

The Gilabad represenative, Ambassador Paul Brehmer, prompty rejected this proposal, stating it to be "immoral and unreasonable." Mr. Warner followed up by stating that since Gilabad started the war and put forth the cease-fire, that they would have to give up something.

Chevrokian President Ragnar Johanson, emphasized that the Gilabadian government should recognize that it's citizens be allowed the right to be legitimately tried, if they are accused of committing a crime.

Brehmer shot back, again stated that Gilabad will not give up any of their territory, and will not change their judicial system to allow citizens the due process of law. He also stated that, "If you must know, Gilabad is a very large nation and we are very well capable of taking all of you...nations on."

Hamilayan Civil War

The most major issue for Chevrokia at the moment lies in the conflict in Hamilay, between the recognized (by the Chevrokians) Federal Republic of Hamilay, and the forces of the "Empire of Hamilay." While exercising the rights of a neutral nation, two Chevrokian merchant vessels, the Sefland Star and Highland Star, and two vessels of the Chevrokian Republic Navy, the destroyers RNS Venture (DDG-555) and RNS Sveadahl (DDG-729) were torpedoed and sunk east of the Hamilayan city of Portsmouth by an unknown submarine, while entering Hamilayan waters. Notably, the attack resulted in heavy casualties, including Captain Leif Kinsgaard, son of the RN's chief-of-staff Fleet Admiral Johan Kinsgaard. Outraged by the attack, the Jagland administration immediately dispatched a significant naval task force, along with expeditionary air forces and ground forces (for base security), to Hamilay to attack any forces attempting to interfere with trade between the Chevrokian Republic and the Federal Republic of Hamilay.

Overseas Expansion

Irathria

The first wave of Chevrokian overseas expansion came under the Johanson administration, with a venture into the geographic region of Irathria. The land grant eventually became a vital territory of the Chevrokian Republic due to its extensive resources, however, a lack of other development has kept Chevrokian Irathria merely at the federal status of Territory.

Terra Recedentia

The second wave of expansion came on the continent of Terra Recedentia, discovered by accident as the result of a Republic Navy submarine running aground. Further exploration uncovered little in the way of resources, and the territory is relatively small, possessing only a small naval and air base in addition to a research establishment. Rumors that the region might be used for nuclear weapons testing have not been confirmed or denied by the Johanson administration, or the current Jagland administration.

Africa

The third, and most recent, wave of Chevrokian expansion came in East Africa in the former nations of Tanzania and Burundi. Following a widespread collapse of national structures, current President Olav Jagland ordered six Republic Marine divisions in to restore order, with the aid of detatchments of the Republic Air Force and the Chevrokian Army. With the area secured and a new government established, the region was formally annexed into the Chevrokian Republic on 9 April 2007 as the Øst-Afrika District, more commonly referred to as "Chevrokian East Africa." This territory has recently been expanded to include the now-defunct nations of Rwanda, Uganda, and Kenya.

The Chevrokian Armed Forces

Branches of the Armed Forces

Chevrokian Republic Air Force

The Chevrokian Republic Air Force (RAF) is the most well-funded branch of the armed forces, and maintains a significant force of heavy bombers and fighter aircraft. The vast majority of RAF equipment has been produced within the Republic, much of it by defense giant Chevrokian Aerospace (CAe). The current chief-of-staff of the RAF is General Jan Peter Christenson.

Chevrokian Republic Navy

The next best funded branch, the Chevrokian Republic Navy (RN) provides the seagoing portion of the armed forces, with an adequate number of capital ships (both aircraft carriers and battleships) as well as the appropriate escorts. Recent inventory additions such as the Revenge-class pocket superdreadnought and the Tabora-class destroyer have significantly improved the firepower of the RN; the Taboras have been described by some as the finest destroyers in the world. The chief-of-staff for the RN is Fleet Admiral Johan Kinsgaard.

Chevrokian Army

Following recent reorganizations, the Chevrokian Army is now close to the Navy for it's budget, and is now equipped with a substantial inventory of armored vehicles, particularly main battle tanks (the M125). Recent equipment additions include the M157 Andre self-propelled howitzer, a combination of the Chevrokian-built M125 chassis and a license-built version of the Macabeean 240mm recoilless siege howitzer from Atmos Inc. The chief-of-staff of the Army presently is General Michael Montgomery.

Chevrokian Republic Marines

The Chevrokian Republic Marines (RM) are considered to be the most battle-ready and most experienced of the ground forces, seeing significant action during the securing of East Africa. They are a highly-mobile organization, basing their operations around a fully-mechanized ground force with support from fighter aircraft and attack helicopters. The RM's chief-of-staff is General Norman Rhoads.

Additional Branches

Additionally, there is a "national guard" type force available, generally regarded as part of the Chevrokian reserves. Operating under the Army is the Army Republic Guard, under the RAF is the Republic Air Guard, and under the RN is the Coast Guard.

Joint Service Commands

Due to the widespread use of aircraft and related military equipment in all branches of the Chevrokian armed forces, several joint service "commands" were set up to handle specific areas.

Chevrokian Fighter Command

Chevrokian Fighter Command is responsible for all fighter aircraft of the the RAF, RN, and RM, as well as ground-attack aircraft of the RAF and fighter-bombers used by the RN.

Chevrokian Bomber Command

Chevrokian Bomber Command oversees the use of the strategic bombing element of the armed forces aerospace inventory. It is largely dominated by the RAF, with the rest being made up of smaller amphibious bombers of the RN. Bomber Command is considered to be a useful reinforcement for Coastal Command (below) if necessary; the majority of Bomber Command aircraft are equipped to carry out maritime strikes.

Chevrokian Coastal Command

Chevrokian Coastal Command handles the security of the coast of the Republic, as well as any operations against maritime targets such as hostile naval warships, merchant shipping, or port facilities. The inventory is divided between the RN and the subordinate Coast Guard. Interestingly, the B-70 Valkyries of the RN are operated as a part of Coastal Command, whereas completely identical planes operated by the RAF are under Bomber Command.

Chevrokian Support Command

Chevrokian Support Command handles basically all other aircraft not yet categorized. These include transport and refueling aircraft, recon, command, and electronic warfare aircraft, as well as training aircraft.

Chevrokian Strategic Command

Chevrokian Strategic Command is responsible for the nuclear arsenal of the Republic. This covers aircraft-launched and ground-launched tactical missiles armed with nuclear missiles, intercontinental ballistic missiles, and nuclear weapons for maritime operations.
