Cliffton is the traditional capital of Maanenland and home city to the Grand Duke of the nation. Although the government is concentrated in the capital New Wesminster Cliffton is where most of the day to day adminstrative chores are carried out.
The city is by far the largest in the nation and is it's industrial and financial centre with all major corporations in the city having their headquaters located in the central financial district. The city itself generates nearly 30% of the nations GDP with the majority of the cities workforce coming in from the nearby satillite cities. This has resulted in major investments in infrastrucutre and telecommunications making it a sharp contrast from cities in the mountain regions.
Ruled as part of the city council is the small island of Cliffton in the West Pacific.
As a historic city it is a major tourist destination with the palace of the grand duke being a particular popular attraction.
